This just in:
Toronto Maple Leafs forward prospect Chris DiDomenico has been traded.
Relax, Leaf fans, he’s still in the system. Â Somehow I get the feeling Burke won’t be trading DiDo anytime soon.
The QMJHL trade deadline is approaching (this Thursday), and following the gold-medal victory on Monday night, DiDomenico discovered he had been traded from the St. John’s Sea Dogs to the Drummondville Voltigeurs.
As an indication of DiDo’s worth in the QMJHL, check out the package the Sea Dogs received in exchange for him:Â goaltender Simon Giroux, winger Mathieu Gingras, a first-round pick in 2009 and a second-round pick in 2010.
DiDomenico put up 34 points in 26 games (11 g, 23 a) with the Sea Dogs, and now joins one of the most explosive teams in the QMJHL.  Coming off a very solid performance in the WJC, this move should serve to further enhance his development as a scoring-line forward.
