Keep Spezza AWAY from this (or any future) Leaf team. He is a prototypical Sen: heartless, whiny, soft and lazy. Look at the Sens: all that talent and what? A worse record than our rag-tag bunch of future hopes and farm hands. Why? Because the team has and always did have a self-entitled, soft, me-first mentality best personified by Jason Spezza. Perish the thought of him in a Leafs jersey.

Burke should seriously look at getting a draft pick that’s guaranteed in the top 5.
A team like Tampa would be willing to dump a player and hey, wouldn’t kubina be willing to join the club again and may’be we could get Malone or Stamkos or “dreaming” St.Louis. and draft two top 10 picks.

Tiago… I would hate to see them go after Spezza. I hate his work ethic. I don’t think he’s a Burke type of player to be honest. And to take on that salary? No thanks!

I don’t really get to see the Penguins play much… Is a Kaberle for J. Staal trade really worth it for the Leafs? Does this kid really have the potential to be top-line talent in the NHL?… I really have no idea. His numbers are all I see and I’m not very impressed, especially at 4 million a season. I ask because I really have no idea… any insight here?

I think the leafs should talk to ottawa about a tomas kaberle,vesa toskala trade for jason spezza. It would solve ottawa’s problems on defence and goal and it would give the leafs a true star player to build around, let’s face it we have no identity in toronto right now.

My comment was not intended to imply that a trade is in the works between Kaberle and Staal. It’s just funny how today’s NHL, salaries are going up like a rocket. It’s just funny how Kaberle is such high caliber defenceman, while Jordan Staal has not proven anything this year.

yea but also Kubina NTC is limited, so if some of the teams that have interest in Kubina are on his predetermined list, we can trade him without his permission.

I bet one of those teams are Tampa who could really use him right now.
