Preds at Leafs Post-Game: Your Say

Couldn’t catch the game this evening, but based on the boxscore alone it looks like tonight’s snoozer was a continuation of the trend that’s been developing since the holiday season. The Leafs lost more often than not during the first third and a bit of the campaign, but for the most part they were tireless in their efforts and grinded out some tight losses. As of the holiday season, not only are they losing more, but looking increasingly weary and uninterested in the process. Tonight, the Buds fired a mere four shots on goal in the third period when the game was still up for grabs. No matter how low the expectation bar may be this year in terms of results, that’s wholly unacceptable and hardly justifies the price of the ticket.

I’ll turn it over to you guys.

    I saw most of tonight’s game, and I have to say that the Leafs’ effort ressembled much like the efforts put forth lately excluding Saturday’s game versus the Flyers. I for one hope the Leafs get the highest pick possible, therefore I’m hoping for regulation losses. But what disturbs me is the lack of effort that we’ve seen lately. I just want them to put an honest 60 minutes together and if the result is a loss than so be it. Wilson must be pissed with yet another weak outing on home ice.

    Was at the Panthers game last week and I have to say that the Leafs played equally as bad in both games.

    Snoozer is right.

    Not a whole lot of ahances for either side today apart from the odd stretch pass for the Nashville forwards.

    Toronto’s offense has been pretty stagnant of late. I shudder to think of what games could look like without Kaberle stretching the defense and leading the rush.

    We’re tanking hard right now! Worst record in the league in the last 10 games. Gives me a glimmer of hope of getting the first overall pick.

    The Leafs had chances tonight but always seemed to get to it a moment too late after the puck had already left. It’s not like Rinne stood on his head; he let out some nice rebounds right in to the slot, but the Leafs just failed to get that puck before it got cleared. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the week goes.

    I think that Tlusty had a good game. He looked quick ,energetic and confident(or at least more confident than any time this year.) Hopefully he starts to turn it around now.

    Tlusty did look good last night, almost like he got the message Wilson is trying to send to these guys, give a good effort every night and you’ll be in the line-up. I’d be very surprised if Tlusty isn’t in the line-up against Carolina, Wilson likes to reward a good effort with opportunity. That to me is what this season is truly about; outside of deadline deals, draft position, etc., it is about developing the young guys and establishing a new identity in the Leafs dressing room. Let’s hope Kulemin is a little hungry too when he’s ready to go.

    The club sent down blueliner Jamie Sifers and recalled defenceman Anton Stralman on Wednesday. – TSN

    Maybe this is a move to try and bolster some scoring and maybe kickstart the PP? Also, Curtis Sanford was placed on waivers today by Vancouver. What are the chances of us picking him up and saying goodbye to Cujo??

    “Hopefully zero”

    Yeah, Cujo’s been standing on his head of late. No need for changes there…

    {Insert sarcasm}

    You’re right, we need Sanford for that playoff push.
