With all the talk about the possibility of Rick Nash coming to the Leafs when he becomes a Free Agent in the summer of 2010, it got me thinking. What would Leaf fans be willing to part with to be GUARANTEED Nash comes to Toronto.

What if you were offered this.

TO TOR: Rick Nash

TO CLB: Toronto’s 2009 First Rd Draft Pick

This would get you Rick Nash AND give the Leafs the opportunity to lock him up in a long term contract before anyone else had the chance.

So the questions is… What Would YOU Do?

    And with the cap going down in a couple years…….what team is going to be able to sign Nash (unless disc w/CLB) or any other player, i can see some young players taking disc, but aren’t
    willing to be ripped off either for their talent.

    Tyler, by the time Nash becomes available, everyone would know what the cap we’ll be for that season. Contracts/offers will shrink accordingly, so don’t worry about that.
    Nash will be looking for longterm rather than really big money.
    This kid always plays for our national teams, and I’m almost positive he would be heading back to Canada come July 1st 2010, hopefully to the Leafs. I just pray that Burke hasn’t compromised our cap space by signing the Sedin sisters before that.
