The Star is reporting.. Colby Armstrong + pick the rumoured return. Update: hearing it’s the Thrashers’ 2nd but I’m trying to confirm… talk of a prospect being involved as well.

@schenn ; you sir are an idiot, i would do armstrong and 3rd for kubina, hell even straight up.

Kubina is overated and i can’t stand him on the ice, always pinching getting caught out of position. Dude is horrible!!

Dober uve gone a little overboard, Kubina was solid for us. But Colby Armstrong assesses more of our needs on the defensive front, and the penalty kill. He’s a great playoff player, a good agitator, and loves the rough stuff. He’s young as well, this IMO would be a homerun deal, get er done Burkie ^_^

I’m just going back to the deal that San Jose offered for Kubina at the 2008 Trade Deadline, which was Bernier and a 1st for Pavel!!

Adding Colton Orr is just what the Leafs sorrily needed for the 2009-2010 campaign: a muscle goof who averaged minus 14 in his last two seasons with the Strangers. Now acquiring Colby Armstrong is awesome as this kid adds character. Pavel will do good in Atlanta. Glad Tomas is still a Leaf. Trading him will eat the Leafs for years – much as the trade of Kenny Jonsonn did over a decade ago. Happy Canada Day!

If the leafs are to trade Kaberle, they better get either Komisarek and a forward or Campbell from Chicago! Either way, they need a defencemen in return, a young defencemen! Here’s to hoping Camellari comes to play for us, he’d be solid on a line with Mr Blake.

I wouldn’t want Campbell from Chicago at $7 million per season!!

that trade for kubina was for kyle mcclaren straight up in 2008. the move was attempted because fletcher wanted to dump salary.

I hope with part of the Kubina trade to Atlanta we get Colby Armstrong and Edward Pasquale (4th round 2009 draft)/Cody Sol (5th round 2009 draft)/Jimmy Bubnick (6th round 2009 draft)instead of the 2nd rounder in 2010. Next years draft is weaker than this year. A combination of either of these prospects I would be happier in receiving than the 2nd rounder. Edward Pasquale goalie, Cody Sol big defence man, Jimmy Bubnick speedy, good work ethic and skilled forward (I like hime the best).
