The following are the team lineups as per MapleLeafs.com. It does feature the kid line of Bozak, Stalberg and Hanson, but they are separated. Curious if that will remain the same for tonight’s affair in order to see what they can all do with other players.

Never in their wildest dreams did any of the Leafs starr think the Kids would show like they have. They have their foots in their mouths now as they have pubicly stated no job is safe.

    @ the King;
    .
Wilson said as much earlier in training camp.
    .
He and his associates had penciled in the line up they expected to start the season with.
    .
The kids needed to blow away another player in those positions. What he didn’t say was that they don’t have top 6 forwards, this team has top 9 forwards. Interchangeable parts.
    .
What I see is MacDonald starting as backup ahead of Gustavsson… due to his not really having a training camp.
What I see is Tlusty and Kulemin in competition because they can both be sent down without clearing waivers.
What I see is four defensemen and a real competition for the bottom 2. My picks would be Van Ryn and White… they are the most talented and NHL ready imo.
    .
    Cheers

The only player I remember Wilson refering to as needing to blow anybody away was Kadri. I was always under the impression the NCAA free agents were mature enough to play in the NHL but needed to prove they can compete at this level.

I respectfully am not on the same page as you. Vetrans are importantant. But the Leafs dont have alot of vets that deserve that much respect. BB said very clearly that this team had a sence of entitlement that needed to be addressed. Your helping the problem. BB also said he had no problem moving vets to the minors. If these guys dont step up then lets make the cultural change you are threatening.
    .
Dont get me wrong, the vets get a break in the sense that they get a look right to the end. But its nearing the end so time to shine. Mayers comes to mind. Unfortunetely he is injured now so thats a problem. Rosehill has shown he wants that spot and will work his but off. Bozak has worked hard, is Stajan scared? Wallim should be.
    .
Time to step up vets. If BB meant what he said and wasnt just blowing smoke up our asses then the kids are showing that they want it. Are the Leafs brass listening?

Bozak has done more to impress me than any other player on this team in the last five years. I’ve already penned him in.

    TuckerThomas;
    .
The thing you need to check is which players can be sent down without clearing waivers.
    .
The Leafs are not going to through away assets by having players sent down that have to clear waivers. No team does that. (Unless they really want to get said player off their list).
    Cheers

    .
Wilson will NOT take all three college kids. I think at least Bozak and Stalberg have shown they can play. Hanson maybe.
    .
Do you see MacDonald starting the season with the Leafs if The Monster and Toskala are healthy? Does that explain the defence in front of him today? Lets see Wilson do that to Toskala.

    .
Agreed. If a player needs to clear waivers in order to be sent down then its a concern and needs to be considered. That may indeed come into play in deciding on the roster. It may not be fair to players deserving to stay

    Hi everyone,
It’s my first post, so hello. I just wanted to quickly say that I thought once the lines were mixed back the guys started to click more. I also thought Blake didn’t look that bad tonight. For me it was the D-men that really let me down, including White. In my opinion, he didn’t really play that great. Let guys beat him on the rush, and for me, his lack of size was fairly evident tonight. Mind you, he was one of our better D-men tonight. I also feel that there was a lack of adapting to the style of the game (as obvious as it may be). The guys couldn’t get through the clogged neutral zone by trying to be a little too cute. I totally agree, really makes you value our top D-men. I hope to add my 2 cents a little more than just readings. Cheers everyone.

    @ Scot
I usually agree with you on most points. I’m respectfully disagreeing with you on this one. I hope the vets really show up this weekend. To me most of the kids have had their chance and its time to step aside and give the vets some minutes. Kadri should be milked for every minute he can get. Bozak deserves a game off and to me is already a Leaf. Hanson, Stalberg and Rosehill have earned call ups asap. Lets see if Blake can turn it on this weekend. Poni too. They don’t have to produce points, just chances and create something at least. All I care about is icing the best players we have on Oct. 1st.

@ Marvin and Cameron – Thank you thank you thank you finally some f@%$en sense. Could not have said it better myself.
    Kool Aid
The rest of you hold off the Kool Aid boys its pre season. All the vets know these kids are there and thats enough. There is no need however to be skating your way to injury before the season. Blake (as much as i am not a fan) Stajan, Poni, and the rest are just setteling into the flow of the game. if they play like this when it matter then yes there will be changes. However Jim Jones Leafs fans it is just preseason chill out.

The guy i have always felt bad for is Poni. Everyone dogs him like he was supposed to be a super star but instaed shit the bed. Thats how retarded alot of TML fans are. A guy drafted in the 6th round and year in year out improves his numbers let alone makes the team and you all shit all over him. Wake the fuck up. Kadri played great but by no means is ready for 82 games at the NHL level at his size. Bozak can but whats the rush let him really get his touch down in the AHL same with Stalberg and Hanson. these players have alot of potential (key word here for every one shooting their wad over the preseason is potential). Giving them some time to really get used to this market and professional hockey is the right way to go.

@TT- your right these guys aren’t Ovie, Malkin or Sid they aren’t that caliber. This is why those players look so much better with the same amount of effort which is in preseason. They aren’t showing no more then our vets in effort they are just that talented. That argument holds no water sorry.

Please don’t drink the Kool Aid TML fans it’ll be ok.

Just want to add that salary amy play into it. A bad contract going down may clear easily. But then again on re-entry the Leafs may have to pay half. But is this about putting the best product on the ice? Or is it business. Probably a bit of both. The rules tend to protect the vets a bit
    .
    .
On another note. Berger hit the nail on the head. Full price tickets to see “B” grade players. Toronto rapes their fans in preseason. I know supply and demand. Just isnt right.

You make some very good points.
Why do you have to be so ignorant though.
I’m not perfect but I’m certainly not retarded.
If you can’t disagree with someone without calling them retarded, you will be disliked by the majority here at MLHS.
    Thats a fact.

    @TT;

We don’t disagree. I really like the game that Bozak, Kadri, Stralberg, Hanson and Rosehill brought to the table. Makes this loooong time leaf fan far more optimistic than I have been since 1993.
    .
You guys all need to think about the future. Are the Leafs going to win the cup this year? No.
    .
Will the Leafs make the playoffs this year? Good possibility.
    .
Will the Leafs look the same in March as they look in October? Not a chance.
    .
I want to see the leafs do the right thing with all their players and prospects. I want to see Kadri tear up the league this year and lead Canada to another WJC championship. I want to see him lead London to a Memorial cup berth. I want to see him build up and grow physically without getting beat up by 250 pound Dmen.
I want to see the NCAA grads tear up the AHL and lead the Marlies to a championship. Learn how to win and what it takes to win.
    .
I firmly believe that had the Leafs had decent goal tending last year, they would have made the playoffs. This year they are deep in goal and have one of the best D corps in the league. That alone should put them in the playoffs.a
    .
Bottom line? No need to rush players into stressful positions.
    .
    Cheers

TT I don’t mind if ppl don’t care for me i just have to say how i feel as most do. I don’t mean that anyone in particular is retarded as I don’t know them. Just that the some of the ideas comes off that way.

And by no way did I intend my comments to you to come off that I was reffering to you directly. Unfortunatley I having moments of retardation (spelling??) myself just reailized that doing this.

I don’t think Hanson or Stalberg have really shown anything but a lot of potential. Bozak is my new favorite player. I love the guy and I can’t think of one reason he shouldn’t make this team. He doesn’t have to play big time munutes 5 nights a week come Oct. 1st. He can handle the full season I’m sure. The guy was still playing 110% in the late stages of the game stopping an empty net chance. He is amazingly fit and has handled an enormous amount of pressure with relative ease and has gained my admiration.
