Just a quick update: Joey MacDonald has been placed on waivers with the intention of sending him to the Marlies, meaning that Jonas Gustavsson will in fact, be with the big club to start the season.

Also, Jiri Tlusty, Nikolai Kulemin & Tyler Bozak are not expected to play Thursday versus the Canadiens, according to Ron Wilson. Still no word on who else is going to down to the minors.

    @CaptainMorgan- I understand what your saying we definatly havent improved our scoring that much. However, with the improved Dfence we should get alot more fastbreaks and stretch passes going the other way which should improve our offence.

    I know people here will disagree about the players on this team and I too at times think that some should go, blah blah blah, but I think this team can make the playoffs and has as much chance as any team once in.

    Hey can somebody explain to me how all the Hockey commentators talk about Mtls big overhaul, when they will have 7 new faces in the line up on Thursday and the Leafs 8 new ones, but nobody mentions this. Yes there is talk about BB’s changes, but in Mtl it is a overhaul because it is their first line complete????

    Because there are a lot of Montreal fans around, and EVERYONE kills the leafs. There’s nothing else to say positive really if you think of it, and fans won’t watch anything that’s not positive. Stupid but true

    Man, I hope MTL stinks it up this year. My entire family is habs fans. It’s not easy hearing their BS everytime we get together. Especially the last few years. If T.O has a bad year, I can live with it as long as MTL sucks ass.

    I don’t. I would feel bad for them lol. All this rebuild and I seriously doubt they make the playoffs. Their defense is shot other then Markov, and I don’t see Gomez hitting more then 60points. I don’t understand why he is a #1 center either. What has he really done?

    He did well in NJ. A lot of players do well there, win the cups, but then then suck elsewhere. Yeah, he’s an ok 2nd line center but not much more. I can’t believe MTL did NYR such a huge favour by taking him. Their D sucks. I have a feeling Price will have a big year though. If not, their fans will eat him alive.

    When I saw mtl take on gomez and gionta for a combined 12 million + i laughed so hard. I was chirping the shit out of my girlfriends dad (habs fan) Sorry sir we have PHILL FUCKING KESSEL for 5.4 million when the avg salary of gomez gionta and cammaleri contract is a little over 6 million cap hit each…( Gomez =7, Gionta=5, Cammaleri=6) Phil kessel is 21…I would be happy to take any of grabovski, Stajan, Bozak, Mitchel when figuring in cap expenses over a bum like gomez. In 2-3 years it will be fun to see Kadri Kessel Stalberg or whom ever dominate a montreal team full of guys they can’t get rid of!!

    Everyone here really needs to take a blue pill..calm down and relax.. the season has not even started and everyone one is balistic…Burke has done what he said he would do.. there is competition..he said that who ever plays well will be on the team.. he did not say that who ever is best in training camp would play…

    we now have what we have not had in many years.. if a player doesn’t play the way the management thinks they should be playing.. or up the the level of effort that they think that player should be showing there is a player below them ready to take that spot…

    if we give all the spots to the young guys who is coming up to take their spot? no one, and then, where is the pressure from below.. all we have done is removed the regulars.. promoted the young guys and lost all the pressure from the ground up..

    they young guys are here to make sure that the regulars are doing their jobs.. if not.. gone and one guy moves up.. that puts pressure on the remaining guys to keep their game at a certain level or you are gone too..we have guys below you who want your job…that is the drive we have not had in years.. that is the drive that BB/RW are talking about..not…not…not.. we will just replace everyone with kids…
