Leafs Practice Notes

    314

Ian White took a personal day today and missed practice. Ron Wilson decided to try some new lines as the Leafs prepare for their road game against the Ottawa Senators tomorrow night. Cory Clouston defines his perception of the Maple Leafs.

The Leafs had issues against the Calgary Flames that were brought to light – again. Even Adnan Virk of mapleleafs.com feels there is a big problem with Jason Blake as a support cast. “Phil Kessel continues to shine with two more goals on Friday night versus the Hawks and now it’s up to the rest of the snipers (Jason Blake anyone?) to step up and start offering some complementary support.”

Cory Clouston’s take on the Maple Leafs:

“[The Leafs] work extremely hard. They are an aggressive team and their record isn’t a good indication of how hard they work and how aggressive they play and they make it very difficult on you. Good powerplay, but their goaltending is obviously a little inconsistent. I watched a good chunk of the game the other night, but they worked very hard. They’re tough, they’re still tough; they finish their checks hard and with Kessel back it’s obviously another threat.”
