When I was younger I bought a GameCube from BestBuy. The power just stopped working about a month and a half after I bought it. I tried to take it back but they wouldn’t have anything to do with it since the 30 day warranty ran out…like seriously, 30 fucking days, are you kidding me? Anyways, they wanted me to pay for it to get fixed, the repair cost the same as a new gamecube. We eventually made a big enough stink that they caved and gave me a new one, but they made it quite clear that they were not happy about it.
Then another time I bought a DVD player open box special. I went home and opened it to find there was no remote. I went back and they said I would have to buy the remote since “that’s the risk you take when you buy open box”…so essentially by buying an open box special DVD player I was taking the risk that I was buying an empty box.

lol, that’s the only time I’ve heard that buying an open box was taking the risk that shit could be broken or missing. Anywhere else the only risk you’re taking is that it’s not fully packaged properly and MAY be a little scratched or something.
