Aulie Out For The Season

Not expected to play with the Maple Leafs at any point this season, Aulie was set to receive big minutes down the stretch with the AHL Marlies as the NHL club evaluated his progress with an eye toward the future. Although the injury is an unfortunate development for the well-regarded blueline prospect, he is still considered to be at least another year away from being ready for full-time NHL duty. In that respect, the overall impact of the time missed will be minimal.

Sucks for him but overall not going to be a big deal.

Well, logging big minutes would have helped him, but it doesn’t kill his development. Hopefully he can show up to camp next season and push for that 5/6 spot on the blue-line. Even if he doesn’t make it, it’d be nice to have someone create some competition from the start.

He’s still very young and is 5 years or more away from being a steady NHl Dman

@ the cause. as we have seen by so many kids playing in the NHL the old rules no longer apply for Dman. This is definitely a tough thing to have happen this early in his career. Get well soon kid.

Too bad…he’ll be a good one for us though. Might just take a little more time…
Hopefully through his rehab he’ll be able to put on a little more upper body weight as his frame can most certainly hold it…

This is short term for a young prospect. Like the article says, minimal impact. He’ll rehab and be back with the Marlies soon enough.
