Early Morning Rumor Roundup

Good morning, die hards, and welcome to Hockey Christmas. And what better way to kick off the day than with more rumors! Here we go!

McKenzie: I won't be overly surprised if Ray Whitney doesn't get traded. If he does, I suspect it will be to L.A. but final call on that will be his. Anything possible today, but Tomas Kaberle has not submitted list of teams he would go to. If Leafs get good offer, they may take it to him. And Kaberle has expressed no desire to leave Toronto. He'll take his chances in the summer when NTC expires.

Bruce Garrioch: Tomas Kaberle is definitely in play. (Kypreos reports the same). Erik Cole in Carolina could go today.

Seems the Leafs might already know the teams Kaberle would go to, and if this is true, this deadline may have just got a bit more spicy.

Dreger: Status quo for Dan Hamhuis. Possible he gets dealt, but Nashville may keep him for the playoffs and trade his rights in the summer. Salary dump mode for Florida. Vokoun could be in play with Philly and Chic as possibilities. Cap issues for both, though.

TFP: Ducks inquired about Tomas Kaberle, told he won't waive no-trade, and that's where it ends. Ducks looking for upgrade on D. As it gets later, talks calm 'til morning… for the most part… Stars may be trying to move Fabian Brunnstrom again.

McKenzie: The first trade of day has come and gone — Tim Horton’s gave me a coffee instead of steeped tea at drive thru. Had to swap it. Done deal.

As I stated yesterday, I’ll be frequently updating my site with rumors and deals as they come through, but be sure to be here today for the Deadline Live Chat with Alec and company!

Enjoy your Deadline Day!

Kypreos is good, any major station is good actually, they know what they’re talking about. Kypreos is well respected.

Dreggs says Kabs is not going anywhere today. I would go with that.

You think there will be any surprizes for us today Michael? looks to me like the best we can hope for is a few low round draft choices by moving Exelby, Primeau etc …

EXACTLY! Kabs has given Burke a list before… why the hell does it matter if he gives it to him again? He doesn’t have to ask him to waive since he told him where he’d go before!

I’m not sure such a list is permanant, I’d guess it is an annual list.
