This week’s prospect was referred to as an integral part of the deal that brought in Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjostrom, while jettisoning Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Ian White and Jamal Mayers to the Calgary Flames.

The former gold medal winning defensman with the 2009 World Junior Championships squad injured his shoulder shortly after the deal.

    Aulie is a solid defencemen and will probably spend the majority of the season as a top-2 with the Marlies next season. Great guy, awesome attitude. At the end of the season he was already weeks ahead of his expected recovery.

    A friend of mine seen Dion at a grocery store in Pei last night … He said the Leafs were signing 2 good players this summer but could not say any names …. Dion usually spends the summer here as his grandmother lives here and i am sure i heard he has a cottage here …. I also saw him at the airport here last summer on a flight to toronto … I wonder who he meant hmm?

    Fackkkkk, it’ll be so nice to finally see the Leafs in the playoffs again. Hopefully Gusty can lead us there next season. A youthful return for Kabby with some new signings next year to go along with what we already have, and boy would it be a treat to watch them compete this time of year. I’d love to play the Habs in the first round, i know for a fact we’d be doing better than the caps right now lol.

    Guys, hes only saying what he heard. Who cares if its right or wrong, at least he took the time to tell us. Not to name names but i was actually exchanging a few emails with a regular on here who said he met Kessel a few weeks back and he had the exact same story. Said a couple guys would be signed but didnt say names. Take it all for what its worth but im sure they know alot more then we think they do

    There will be signings of course…..our guy above aint listing names…settle down ….he is just starting a conversation….aint that the purpose of this site?? Id love to talk hockey wth Dion or Phil…..except Phil better be riding a bike instead of talking…he needs to get in top shape and rip it up….if I have to see him in the room in a tight fitting shirt again….well I may as well play pro hockey….he needs to focus 100 % on his fitness and strength.     Phaneuf says the Leafs will sign two good players? Hardly earth-shattering. The plan outlined by Burke pretty much said that they wanted to add two good forwards. No surprise there.
    Now, as for names of who Burke hopes to sign – too early even to know for certain who will be on the market.
    Burkie might say to Wilson, that he likes a player, but he’s not chewing these things over with players. (Can you say tampering)? Dion might wash Burkie’s car, but he’s not doing Burkie’s taxes. (laugh).
