    @ AussieLeaf:
I’d never thought of Beauchemin for Malone. That I would do. I got focused on everyone saying Kaberle for Malone +. That I would not do.
    .
    Nice call.

    Big strong power forward leader.
    Perry
    Brown
    Morrow
In order of hope. Here we go again, but there’s not enough arguing here today so I can’t help myself.
Somehow add secondary grit and keep the Marlies competetive.
And also well said @slowburn. Where’s Cameron???

    My Perspective on the Draft:

After the 1st 3 picks; The rest of the draftee,s are all make work projects with big question marks! IMO. Burke wants a forward to play now; plus. He hasnt got the offer he is looking for.
What the fuck do want him to do? Give Kabs away for a 1st rounder who is a question mark?
    I didnt think so.

Everybody is all bent out of shape over the kessel deal. Heres my take on it.

Kabs is our draft picks this year! Why?

Because; As we all know the Kabs for Kessel deal fell through. Too bad; 1 for 1 would have been great.

But it didnt happen. Burke wanted Kessel big time; and so he traded our 1st and 2nd; plus next years first for a proven goal scorer; who has the potential to get 40 to 50 a season. 30 this year not bad considering. Burke felt that was a fair price to do it; And he did; Taking in all considerations.

So here we are at draft day with no picks in the first 2 rounds: I say Bull shit. When Kabs gets traded; Thats our 1st and 2nd pick. Kabs is the left over piece of the Kessel deal.
Does that make sense? It does to me.

If Burke decides not to trade Kabs; Im good with it. Our D as it stands now looks pretty potent.

So lets move Forward today and see where the Master takes us on our short journey to the Stanley cup! Burke has done a great job so far as I see it!

WTF…where’s Dregger? Sleeping off a draft day hangover I guess. Either that or he got jiggy with Allysa Milano last night and is capping of his morning with a rousing match of “hide the sausage”. Let’s assume the latter just for fun.

Via Twitter Carolina has 3 picks in the 2nd round today. They might be a logical trade partner for the Leafs now—Henny #nhldraft

    @ Doorman:
    .
Good insight – bravo. We should also remember that Burke is going to use cap space as an asset to pick up young talent along with another team’s salary dump. Plenty of ways to skin a cat (and thanks for the previous tip on how to do that).

So, not much happening in Leaf land. I really didn’t think there would be much movement, but I’m a little disappointed. However, I completely agree with the posters who are saying that Burke is doing a good job and we all need to exercise patience. The Leafs have the best front office in all of hockey so I expect a competitive Leaf’s team very soon… perhaps playoffs this year. In Burke we trust!! GO LEAFS GO!!!!

Oh ya, Perry + for Kabs and Kuli, I would probably do, but it would take a lot of humming and hawwing. I think Kuli will be dynamite next year so that might haunt us.

Burkie is walking a fine line with his rebuild-on-the-fly. He likes to fish and said cultivating the right scenario for a trade is like fishing in that you need to have patience to get the right trade, catch the big fish. Yes, it was a waste of time this week so far, but the week is not over!

Waaaaaawaaa….cut the wrist’s up, I heard it’s more effective. We finished 29th do you really believe there are a dozen GM’s lining up to trade their future Stars for ours??? Hahahahahahahahaha. I just don’t understand the reasoning. If Burke does trade Kabby for a decent return then we’ll be fine, If he doesn’t we hope we can resign him. Because thats just the way it goes when you inherit a fuckin shit team. Look at what he’s already done, that alone was a miracle. The only waste of time this week, was listening to the ludicrous proposals like Bobby Ryan for Kaberle+ or Parise for Kabby +….hahhaha

Won’t happen, so you don’t have to hum and haw because Perry makes Kuli look like a KHL player. Burke will let Kuli walk if he keeps his demand to high, Burke will not let players heads get in the way of his team development.
