    To Sundin bashers:

Sundin wanted to resign, even at a lesser salary, for one last NHL season, but Fletcher wanted to “move the team in a different direction.” Bashing Sundin for refusing to be traded in his final season with the Leafs is one thing, but at least get your facts right before painting him as someone who had questionable loyalty/love for this organization. The organization pushed him away, so why hate him for wanting to finish his last full NHL season in the blue and white?

Consipiracy? We treated him badly and then didn’t offer him a contract. What fucking conspiracy? We’re still treating him badly. And by we, I mean you clowns.

I am so glad that Burke has some class. This grimy fuckin organization needs it. Maybe the fans can learn something too.

Yeah, fuck those class acts Selanne and Neidermayer. Fuck them!

The country club attitude of playing for years and years and getting bashed up day in and day out only to have your brand new boss try to fuck you out of your contract, that you earned.

Here is some food for thought. Brett Lebda has not made any TML related appearances yet (that I am aware of). Maybe he was advised upon being acquired that he should not get comfortable as he may be flipped as part of a package soon after arriving. The Kovalchuk situation may have stalled the deal. Perhaps the plan is to keep Kaberle and send Beauchemin and Lebda to Anaheim or San Jose or LA for a power forward and a pick or prospect? If dealing with a Western team it would make sense that Kaberle would not be involved as he has pretty much devalued himself to them by saying he would not resign. This scenario also fits into Burke’s luncheon cancellation and supposed trip to Europe. Burke would have gone over to assure Kaberle that he is going to resign him but that he has to finalize and announce the other trade first to appease the masses prior to announcing that Kaberle is being resigned to a lifetime contract with the Leafs at a hometown discount which would be justified by the fact that his role is being reduced as he is no longer on the top pairing. Kabs would still play big PP minutes but his 5 on 5 time will be reduced and he will not kill penalties. Over the next few years as Schenn and Gunner earn more and more minutes as they develop.

    @ lescott:

You are correct. I still hate the way sundin went out….it was junk. I also hate how the Leafs couldnt give him a reason to stay or surround him with better players for many years. Both sides fucked that up.

We had a lot of players, who played below their standard for a bit but loved Toronto and got chewed up and spit out. You telling me you got a family and a mistress, a good pub you hang out at or whatever in this city, you play here for years and get a NTC.

You’re just gonna say, yeah fuck it, “I’m go ah play fo Florida or Colorado or wha’ever you want Bossman Fletcher? Yass sa, Masta.”

You’re somebody’s bitch if you say yes.

Why should a guy pay Leafs Nation homage when he was already being alienated by the way the organization was presenting him to the fans as a detriment to the clubs future… would you sign, love or hate the fans, when the people you are dealing with considerably more often than the fans, the GM and the upper eschelons of the organization, are trying to push you out. Considering the emotion Sundin showed when they played that video when he came back to the ACC as a Canuck, I doubt he was trying to burn the fans.
