Nick Kypreos has tweeted this little gem today:

#Leafs put Jeff Finger on #NHL waivers today.

This finally puts an end to the long period of speculation over the future of Jeff Finger. When he clears tomorrow, it will be interesting to see where he ends up playing. Renegotiating with another NHL team or even playing in Europe would perhaps be more entertaining to Finger but wouldn’t be the wise financial move as he’d have to opt out of his current contract by not reporting to the Marlies. While Wilson has been adamant that a return to the NHL this season isn’t an impossibility, it seems Finger will be left to lead a Marlies team that has started with a 0-2 record.

    That is true. Though Burke will pay to get his man and likes to build from the net out. I believe defensive forwards should be after dmen. That line would be one you could give mega minutes to late in the game up by 1. With so much cash on D we can’t afford to do it right now though. If we had less tied up in Dmen I would be for it.

    strange that they would give gus the start againts the pens, and hold jsg a week off and have him play against the rangers.

    i woulda kept jsg going on his streak tonight, give gus an easier rangers team for confidence and win.

    Stop buying into James Dean’s foolishness. This is a fan site. Plenty of fans, for a wide variety of teams, get overly optimistic and excited. An equal amount, like him, seem to think they’re superior to the average fan. In one way or another, most of the people here are stereotypes.

    Anyways, I wish Giggy was starting again tonight. I really like Gus, but I figured a NY start made more sense as Giggy has been playing well. Will be disappointing coaching if this results in a loss; we’ve got good momentum right now.
