Reimer In, Giguere Out

The Toronto Maple Leafs suffered a bit of a loss in their win last night against the Nashville Predators. Midway through the third period, goaltender J.S. Giguere suffered an undisclosed injury (believed to be groin), and sat out the remainder of the game. He will now be out of the lineup for at least tomorrow night’s game against the New Jersey Devils. In his absence, Toronto has called up goaltender James Reimer from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies. Reimer has appeared in 9 games this season for the Marlies, posting a record of 5-3-1 with one shutout, a 2.90 goals against average and a 0.918 save percentage. Reimer will play the role of back-up goaltender to Jonas Gustavsson on Thursday night, but could see NHL action should Giguere’s injury be more long-term.

#Leafs lineup vs. New Jersey here: http://www.640toronto.com/Blogs/EatSleepLeafs/BlogEntry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10164556. Seems likely that Gunnarsson goes in.

Really poor move on Wilsons part if he does this.

Wilson must be reading our posts and decided to give us a reason to start drinking early. If I am Gunnarson/Aulie I would be a little pissed seeing this guy under-perform (or perform to his max) and doesn't have to sit for poor play. Yet they are the ones being shuffled like a deck of cards. All I can do is shake my head.......It's things like this that make you wonder what goes on in Wilson's mind. I would like to see if anyone can defend this move?

Ron Wilson says only lineup change for Leafs tonight will be in goal but don't be surprised to see a switch on the blueline.
>
so what is it? If wilson says no change why is Mirtle convinced there will be one?

Smart moving keeping Lebda in the lineup. Gustavsson hasn't started in a while, make sure he gets into the game with a few early breakaways.

Man talk about a way to ruin what was shaping up a good day. Pissed right off even before the game starts . Hope the fuck someone on that staff reads MLHS and tells Wilson to get his head checked.

It's like Wilson is trying to either a) prove a point to someone
or b) lose.
There's no other excuse to have Lebda and his -9 (in 10GP) in the lineup.
