The Marlies hosted three games over the weekend and picked up a pair of victories over the Abbotsford Heat. On Friday night the Marlies defeated the Heat 6-4 at Ricoh Coliseum. Toronto got scoring from six different players and Jussi Rynnas made 31 saves for his third straight win. All four of Abbotsford’s goals were scored while on the power play.

James Reimer lifted the Marlies to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Heat on
Saturday with a 29 save performance. Joey Crabb and Dale Mitchell scored the two Marlie goals.

On Sunday the Marlies had their five game winnings streak snapped by the Chicago Wolves. Dale Mitchell scored the lone goal. The Wolves scored a pair of shorthanded goals. Jussi Rynnas’ three game winning streak was snapped in the loss.

    Crosby and the Pens tonight! Remember when there was a debate as to who the best player in the world was? When you consider the fact that Stall has been out all year and Malkin has been plying hurt or out with injury this seasons performance is absolutely incredible. I wonder if they should b put a shadow on him tonight, Like Corson on Yashin from the 02 playoffs

    All the Stamkos talk too was premature (The Ovie talk i always knew as fans blinded by adrenaline, determination and power) considering that Crosby is the full package superstar. Dont get me wrong, Stamkos may elevate to a better offensive threat down the line (via scoring not passing) but IMO Crosby will be the best for a long time. That comparison has all the capability of being Gretzky vs Lemieux.

    Grabo said he got his shootout move from Blake, So I thought maybe he can get an idea from this one its impressive considering its a D-man who pulled this one off.

    When we get the chance, I say Shoey. He’s fast, tenacious and I don’t care if he can’t score if he can shut down his man.

    Its hard to say if Crosby will be able to put up Gretzky or Lemieux like numbers in today’s NHL. But I bet he would have if he was playing during that time.

    @Burtonboy
    To me the most impressive thing about Gretz and Mario wasn’t just the #’s they put up, it was how far ahead of everyone else they were. Can’t really compare the 80′s game to todays, not fair.

    Anyone see the slip up Panger had on TSN?
    .
    http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/Video-Darren-Pang-apologizes-for-P-K-Subban-t?urn=nhl-293027
    .
    I think it’s almost as big a slip up to say Subban should emulate ‘the best 21 year old defenceman’ and not name Luke Schenn.

    I think he would have gone point for point with them, simply because he seems like a guy that wouldnt settle for less. I heard a couple games ago he thinks he can still find another level and thats just scary cause this year he is already @ a 1.6 ppg pace thats not to far from the Gretz days.
