Haha STILL with the fire Wilson attacks. If anyone thinks firing Wilson will get us more wins then your wrong. He’s not the one playing, get that through your head. He can’t take AHL players and make them NHL talent

    @ tron:

Dubinsky would be a player I would go after as well. Most teams in the NHL would want him.

I am still shocked at the lack of point production from Armstrong…..I had hoped for more.
We need a horse for the middle, the second line is excellent and we just need that one guy for Kessel. I know it, you know it, the world knows it and Burke is getting played like a cheap violin whenever he calls another GM about it.

Marleau – but he is probably a bit too old and can’t find a good argument that he would like to come to the LEAFs. Well play RW again!!!!!!!!!
    -
Pavelski or Dubinsky maybe because they are American. For the LW Parise could be a potential candicate because of the Olympic connection with RW and BB

    Parise and Clarkson for what?

The fans have turned on Clarkson this year….I would take him. And Parise will command too much money.

And Alec, I love the updates from the Marlies.

I hope you guys are doing well with ad revenue because this site is clearly the best coverage for the Maple Leafs on the internet. Again, great job.

    @ Great Dane:

Wouldnt you ? Not sure if you recall but I was shunned like a Leper for requesting Burke to make a trade when we were 4-0. Why should we do it then? Because we were NOT desperate. You make trades from a position of strength not weakness. Well we currently have weakness out the wazzoo, and Burke couldnt make a good trade right now to save his life.

Parise is a RFA? But he is going to get BIG DOLLARS after next year. And The Devils cant afford to let him walk at July 1st. PLus they cant afford to keep several guys who are looking at wage increases due to the Kovalchuk mess.

Who keeps playing Lebda? And at fuckin WIng no less?

Jordan is on the right track when he says play the kids.

I would expect to see guys like Caputi, Mueller, Rosie, Zigomanis (not a kid) and Hanson make appearances.

I also expect that Ronnie leaves a few lines other than Grabbos together for a few games so they can gel.

    Damn from Ek.

So you know its never going to happen…..

Meanwhile in NJ rumors have calmed down a bit after a deal with Toronto didn’t happen last week..a deal that one source called “a potential steal for the Leafs.”

    @ canucksnaphook:
This isn’t fantasy hockey, GM’s in the NHL would not have went oh shit look at the start the leafs had I wonder if I can get in on that action… I mean in the MLHS fantasy league i traded Brandon Sutter for Simon Gagne after 5 games because Sutter scored a trick in his first game and Gagne was pointless, but I would like to think that doesn’t happen in the NHL.

    To answer your to comments:
    -
Burke just have to find someone more sweatie than himself to deal with hahahahaha.
    -
But you are right it is impossible to make a semi-decent deal in the current situation.
    -
The Phaneuf deal is best example: Flames were more desperate than the Leafs

    @ Tim Horton:

    NOt sure you point.
But if you think that GM’s arent just as competitive when it comes to trades as it is to winning games then you arent paying close enough attention.

GMs will say they hope its an equal trade and they are full of shit, they want to have it as a landslide for their team.

lol I would bet the opposite, Burke dont sweat, and the other GM’s would be nervous because Burke will roll the dice and the media be dammed. The Thing with a Guy like burke, is that he is not affraid to be wrong.
    -HE Raped Calgary
-He signed Grabo to a sweet deal and was Heavily Critized
-He Traded for Kessel and Still takes critizim for it. But he is on pace still for his second 30 goal season for us.
-He traded for Versteeg, and geesh was critized heavily for it, Versteeg has his faults but has done a great job lately and looks to my eyes a very promising young player.
-He got Kulemin Signed and Then Army and Macarthur. These are as a whole very solid moves at the very least from past expirience in watching leaf trades over the years.

BUt then he goes and signs Lebda, Face Palm

    Peace

I think if you are talking about potentail centers to the Leafs you have to look at Zajac I just think out of all the names mentioned earlier that he would be the easiest to aquire maybe not the best but he could still plug along at 60+ points with Kessel. Then I would do everything in my power to go after a guy like Lucic or Stewart type player.
