I honestly think Dion is done, this is the best he is going to be. Something happened to him. He will never be the same.

Well I prefer a two year 1.5 million mistake to bigger ones. Komisarek is a lot worse

Aye he makes mistakes, thats the risk with a guy like Burke. But remember our Defense at the time and we had the cap room. HE could not have know at that time that Dion would become available. Lets Face it Schenn panned out, much to our delight. Not all 19 year old defenseman do right away, defensman can take time to develop. He could not have seen Gunnerson or Aulie. It turns out he is now redundant. but at the time well our D didnt look so pretty.

    IMHO

The clarity of the rear mirror is amazing. Aulie, Holzer, Gunnarson, Blacker, Mikus should make it possible to move Komisarek for some things useful

    @ Great Dane:

When you mention clarity of the rear view mirror I will counter with this.

Several of us around here wanted Burke to stop after making a few good (in our eyes) acquistions this summer (Versteeg, Armstrong) btu then he continued with guys we werent so high on (Lebda, MacArthur). Burke kept talking about competition for spots and having guys pushed to play here. Well that just isnt a possibility in the “Cap World” once a guy like Ledba is signed how can a Holzer or Aulie push him out of a spot? They cant. Too many guys were brought in and too few spaces (bottom 6) available. I hope we get out of this rut soon.

    @ Dougy:

I think a team San Jose or New Jersey would be interested in Beauchemin. They need a Top4 minute eating Dman. He is not as bad as the Toronto Media (and us) have made him out to be. He is only getting paid 3.5 and would be a desired commodity. IMO.
