Aside from the Stanley Cup parade yesterday in Boston, there is really not much to discuss in the hockey world. With the draft in five days and the free agent market opening shortly thereafter, it’s not long before there will be plenty to talk about. Think of right now as the calm before the storm. It will be a busy off season for Brian Burke as he looks to acquire a front line centre and beef up his forward corps. This is the year the Leafs get serious about the playoffs and Burke has work to do before this roster is ready. It all begins Friday when the Leafs stand up to the podium to make their entry draft selections. Let the fun begin!

    @ Nights:
Wow…is that actually true? Is that the only line that outscored them? If the 1st line on a Stanley Cup finalist team is the only line that outscored the Leafs second line is true then my hopes may not be as misguided as I thought lol…now imagine that first line contributing more…

    Lupul – Richards – Kessel

Pass the crack pipe boys, Kulemin over Lucic I almost puked in my mouth, then nearly shat me pants when I read that, Lucic brings way more to the table that is invaluable to a team and I hope Kulie can bring half of those same attributes.

    .
Very few people would agree with you here. Kulemin bring’s way more than half of what Lucic bring’s to the table. Frankly if Lucic wasn’t so big he would be a 4th liner. Watching him these past 2 month’s should have made everyone realize how limited he is as a hockey player. Boston never won because of him, they won inspite of him. He’s slow, useless with the puck, a disaster defensively. But he can throw his big body in front of the net, and get some cheap point’s playing with better player’s.

Considering Kessel was a -20 and Richards a +1, they should be alright together!!

Sure, Carter might be the better option, but would you rather have Carter or Richards, Gunnarsson, the 1st rounder and whatever else it’d cost to get Carter?
