MLHS 2011 Free Agency Contest

Back by popular demand is the MLHS Free Agency Contest. DLB is our defending champ after a 13-way hat draw revealed last year’s winner. The prize up for grabs this year, in addition to site bragging rights, is a Half Clapper Top Cheddar t-shirt courtesy of SportsChirps.com.

The rules are the same as last time:

Pick three signings (not including re-signings) you think Brian Burke will make this off-season and include a prediction for both the length and the salary figure of the contracts. List the salary per annum. Should the contract be front or back loaded, we will use the pro-rated cap hit figure as the correct salary (in any cases where the salary and cap hit differ, we will use the cap hit). The winner will be decided via a points-system:

Points System Per Prediction
1 Point – Correct player
1 Point – # of contract years predicted is correct
1 Point – Predicted salary is within 500k of actual salary
Bonus Point – Predicted Salary is within 100k of actual salary

    Talbot would be an upgrade to Brent or Boyce from last year… Burke is trying to upgrade where possible as well as fill out main gaps- 1C

    i still think dale mitchell is going to be a huge suprise for leaf fans. His attitude was fantastic all year last year even though he was all over the place. I mean hell i remember him being sent the the ECHL and he posted on twitter how excited he was to help them with there playoff runs. Dale mitchel was clutch as fuck with that windsor team in junior i mean he singlehandedly got them to the memorial cup final that one year. I think if we give mitchell a fair shake we could see a guy who fits a scott upshall mold.

    Since moving to this massive single page format yesterday (vs a new page after every 80 posts) IE drags to the point of appearing to lock up after about 400 posts.

    guys talbot is the type of guy that lights a fire under the buts of the skilled players. Hes nasty and hes down right dirty on the forecheck. Brown was awesome at times last year but imagine what him orr and talbot could do on the ice. or even brown talbot caputi… I say sign talbot offer a pick 5th round or later and get it done. Your essentially giving up a pick so you can manage a reasonable contract with him instead of having to offer him 3 mill for like 20-30 points.

    Is there anything we can do? Cause it is really awful and i love the site. But this is crazy…took me like 10 minutes to type this to you. Keeps locking up.

    this site works fine for me at home when im using google chrome. Its literally impossible to load on my comp at work though but i know for a fact its because were like 7 versions of ie behind… no joke.

    Nope…scanned with both Kaspersky and spybot and came up clean…if it was spyware it would do it with all sites. Only does it here.

    I am not saying the staff isn’t doing what they can…i am simply asking a question as there may be something they are unaware of. Just seeing if i was the only one and it appears i am not.
    I know it is free and the site is great that is why i have been on here for many years.
    I simply asked a question…did not critisize.
