MLHS 2011 Free Agency Contest

Back by popular demand is the MLHS Free Agency Contest. DLB is our defending champ after a 13-way hat draw revealed last year’s winner. The prize up for grabs this year, in addition to site bragging rights, is a Half Clapper Top Cheddar t-shirt courtesy of SportsChirps.com.

The rules are the same as last time:

Pick three signings (not including re-signings) you think Brian Burke will make this off-season and include a prediction for both the length and the salary figure of the contracts. List the salary per annum. Should the contract be front or back loaded, we will use the pro-rated cap hit figure as the correct salary (in any cases where the salary and cap hit differ, we will use the cap hit). The winner will be decided via a points-system:

Points System Per Prediction
1 Point – Correct player
1 Point – # of contract years predicted is correct
1 Point – Predicted salary is within 500k of actual salary
Bonus Point – Predicted Salary is within 100k of actual salary

    I’m not sure what the site requires for it to update automatically (probably Java), maybe that’s what needs updating. I use Chrome and have had no issues with it.

    the only problem i have on my home computer is the updates stop working after 10 20 minutes, i just hit refresh and they all load no problem.

    its a good idea but adding a donations thing just opens up a whole new can of worms. I think too the minute this site starts generating money theres a bunch of legal stuff or tax stuff that you open yourself up too as well. Im probably dead wrong but i had a feeling theres probably a good reason it wasnt done.

    I just downloaded Google Chrome as i was having the same problem as you and the site is working MUCH better…..

    Could you install a new browser? Chrome works well for me. And I have a crappy old XP rig.

    Chrome is working fine, just the real-time updating bugs. The mobile version of Disqus is a whole other problem. There is absolutely no way of figuring out who replied to what comment and the interface is a total resource hog.

    haha yea i was using my phone to look at mlhs today instead of using my shitty work computer and it was just a big giant cluster fuck lol. I just viewed the regular version instead of the moblie one and it was better.
