No word on the cap hit and term yet, but “Bozie” himself has confirmed that he will be returning with the Leafs. Sportsnet were the first to break the news and TSN 1050 Radio’s Rick Ralph has since reported it’s a two-year deal.

As a player who only produced 32 points in a full 82 game season of top six minutes alongside an elite finisher in Phil Kessel, and who is now expected to shift to a bottom six role going forward, you would expect something around $1.5 million per annum. More details as they become available.

Update
Per TSN: “Bozak will reportedly earn $1.95 million over the two seasons of his contract.” $975,000 per annum.

Updated Update: Dreger reports that Bozak will actually make 1.5 million dollars per season over a two year deal.

That’s sweet. It’d be easier to look at if PPGA had been divided by SH time on ice, since i’m to lazy to go and do that, and to dumb to do it in my head, but yeah grabo looked pretty good on that nonetheless. Bozie is decent too. I would still like Grabo not to kill for too long though, since he’s needed elsewhere.

This year Ronnie’s job is on the line, he will pick the best team regardless of who looks good at camp.

Just curious, but why do you have macarthur, a winger, centring lombardi, who himself is a centre. I don’t have a problem with lombardi playing wing, or with maca playing centre, but seems counter intuitive when both naturally play each others positions in that line up….

He’s not a centerman with the leafs no; but it is his natural position outta junior, and with the Thrashers. This and with Lombardis head problems it might be a better idea to utilize his game breaking speed on the wing. Centermen are much more susceptible to open ice hits.

I think by the time that roster arrives (D’amigo, Colborne etc), id think that Mckegg would be on the team with Bozaks time expiring. What do you think? Kid has some sick skill.

If sitting back and review the situation is signing MacA and Bozak to very fair deals, then I can’t wait to see what Burke & Co do when they start working on something

That’s why I’m not 100% convinced this is the lineup that we’re going into the season with. Burke said he doesn’t like the idea of going into the season with all the roster spots decided. I think 2 or 3 guys will be swapped for 1, and leave a couple of spots open for rookies to battle it out for. Kadri is ready, and Colborne, Frattin, and D’Amigo are almost.

That is my believe as well.

Burke & Co have lined up all the assets to make a splash for a big fish.

Furthermore I believe that Schenn will sign a deal of about the same amount as MacA for 3-4 years

So 7.5 milion in cap space of which 3.5 million goes to Schenn leaving 4 million for a rainy day.

But that includes Komisarek and Lombardi with out them we have another 8 million in cap space. Now that is very close to 12 million ;-)

The best thing of all this dealing is that young players agree to reasonable contract because they want to play for the Leafs. Going forward that is a big step in the right direction to build a cup winner.

Here’s a suggestion for you, Jordan. Since so little is going on in the off-season, why not ask us all for our favourite Leaf memory….limit it to 150 words or something…so many people on here, from so many age groups, you would likely get a ton of content…
