Leafs ink Lashoff for one year

We have so much depth now. A lot of players are expandable. I like Gunner, but I think he’s gone. Gunner, Komi, Grabo, plus bunch of prospects that wont see time with the big boys. I bet that trio package right there can fetch us something pretty decent.

You guys think that package with maybe some tweaks could land us someone like Stastny? I like Grabo, but no doubt Burke moves him for Stastny. I actually think thats a pretty good deal for both teams. Gives Colorado some pretty serviceable players. Grabo can be a good #2 and make up for some of Stastny’s points. Maybe Komi can find his game back. Gunners a nice addition too. Also sends back cap, which they need.

still rather have Schenn. true character guy. You need people like him in the playoffs. Subban’s good too, but I think Schenn’s more valuable.

hopefully Lombardi heals up by then! haha jks. you sub in Bozak and fill 3 and 4 C with plugs. eg. boyce and someone else. Arnott signing would make sense. I just think Stastny/Connelly > Connelly/Grabo, and Grabo would be useless on the 3rd line.

Schenn is gonna be a gem if he isn’t already. Constantly shutting down the top opposing players. He’s a much more difficult guy to get your hands on then Subban. We always have Colby, Brown and the up and coming Ross to play the shit disturber role.

Lashoff’s only temporary until say Gardiner or Blacker develops. I haven’t seen what Connelly could do yet. Dont get me wrong. I love grabo and think Stastny/Grabo would be sick. But I just don’t see them getting rid of Connelly right after signing him.

Hence why I don’t believe we’ll be trading for Stastny.

I hear ya… it will be interesting to compare the development of these two defencemen over their careers.
