Leaf Fans Say Goodbye To Wade Belak

RIP Wade

It’s a truly sad day in the Maple Leafs community and in the hockey world, Wade Belak was found dead in a Toronto hotel room earlier tonight. No details are known at this time except the fact the police ruled out foul play. Wade was one of the good ones, an honest hockey player with a good sense of humor and a good team guy to boot.

Born in Saskatoon on July 3, 1976 Belak spent 15 years in the NHL, playing for the Colorado Avalanche, Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers and the Nashville Predators. He spent a total of 7 seasons playing with the Maple Leafs and making his mark in every Leafs fan’s heart.

For everyone who watched him play and for everyone who didn’t, here is a reminder and a tribute. And HERE is how he probably would have liked to be remembered.

Goodbye Wade, we’ll miss ya.

    lol i am also guilty of it but id have to disagree with your comment, i havent driven drunk for probably 5 yrs now as ive lost some friends in accidents but when i did i usually woke up in the morning saying ” shit, definatly shouldnt of drove home”.
    So yes i am just as guilty as you but mine were more mistakes, not that its any better but i knew it was wrong, i think you atleast need to change your attitude about it a little

    Does anybody know if you can get leafs TV in NL or is the only way to get those games to order the NHL network?

    not sure, but you should find out quick, the weekend following this one coming up is the rookie tournament, leafs have a deep roster for the tournament this year.

    honestly i have read alot of stupid and ignorant comments on this site and this one takes the cake…one of my best friends will never be the same because of a drunk driving incident..if u dont wanna pick ur car up in the morning take a cab to your destination at the start of the night

    Just did a little digging it looks like about 25 Canadians die each year from drinking and boating and about 100 Americans, with thousands of injuries…. Just FYI, but there is not a lot of legit studies on this that I can see…
