Leafs Lines v. Flyers
In the second game of a busy pre-season schedule, the Leafs face Brayden Schenn and the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. The team kicked off things with a 4-2 win against Ottawa last night, and as you would expect, the lineup for tonight’s game is drastically different.
From Jonas Siegel at TSN1050, here are the Leafs’ lines for tonight’s game:
—
MacArthur – Colborne – Mueller
Kadri – Boyce – Caputi
Scott – Zigomanis – Orr
–
Finger – Schenn
Gysbers – Blacker
–
Owuya
—
While I’m sure we’re all interested in finally seeing the Kessel-Connolly experiment, this will be a pretty big game for a few guys in particular who are in that battle for bottom six positions. Caputi, Boyce and Zigomanis will be pushing for spots on the club, with Boyce and Zig focused on being that fourth line pivot. Caputi looks to chase Nazem Kadri for that third line winger spot, though it’s doubtful he can get there until injuries come along.
On the blueline we’ll get our first glimpse of Franson as a Leaf, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Jeff Finger, who’s trying to crack the club despite the fact that there’s really no chance he can make it. I’ll still be pulling for him though.
Game goes at 7pm

@ I know, and it's unfair, probably. Ideally, I'd like Komi to go back to being his own version of the Human Eraser, and just start keeping it simple with the puck. He also doesn't have to be Paul Coffey in the skating department...just stop standing still, dagnabbit!
For the record I like Hal Gill - if Komi can get half as composed as Gill is, I'm pretty sure his play will improve tenfold. He's gripped the stick here from day one to live up to that contract - exactly the same problem Beauchimin suffered from.
@ True. More rock than brain in that skull. Well that and a white-fro Napoleon Dynamite would kill to have.
@ I wonder then if Komi is trying to do too much. The book was out on him from all my Habs buddies that he was a pylon and had zero mobility/skating...but was that Carbonneau and then Wilson not using him properly to use the skills he does have, or Komi's talent level not up to the snuff we hoped it was?
I enjoy his toughness, but not if he makes Hal Gill's skating look downright Coffey-like.
@Hawkee Gooroo The other word/joke going around was that Cliff thought he was paying him that number OVER the term, not PER year, lol.
