In the second game of a busy pre-season schedule, the Leafs face Brayden Schenn and the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. The team kicked off things with a 4-2 win against Ottawa last night, and as you would expect, the lineup for tonight’s game is drastically different.
From Jonas Siegel at TSN1050, here are the Leafs’ lines for tonight’s game:
Lupul – Connolly – Kessel
MacArthur – Colborne – Mueller
Kadri – Boyce – Caputi
Scott – Zigomanis – Orr
Finger – Schenn
Franson – Komisarek
Gysbers – Blacker
While I’m sure we’re all interested in finally seeing the Kessel-Connolly experiment, this will be a pretty big game for a few guys in particular who are in that battle for bottom six positions. Caputi, Boyce and Zigomanis will be pushing for spots on the club, with Boyce and Zig focused on being that fourth line pivot. Caputi looks to chase Nazem Kadri for that third line winger spot, though it’s doubtful he can get there until injuries come along.
On the blueline we’ll get our first glimpse of Franson as a Leaf, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Jeff Finger, who’s trying to crack the club despite the fact that there’s really no chance he can make it. I’ll still be pulling for him though.
Game goes at 7pm
