NHLPA delays realignment

Just when I had envisioned the Bruins, Leafs, Sabres and Canadiens making the playoffs every year forever and ever, the NHLPA goes ahead and stops realignment. Yes, you’re reading that correctly. Realignment, not happening, or at least it seems that way for now.

From the White Towel (Province Sports):

The National Hockey League Players’ Association has blocked the #NHL’s proposed #realignment plan for the 2012-13 season

This, of course, means the Jets will remain in the Southeast, while the Florida teams won’t make the jump to join the Northeast clubs. It’s been reported that the League had imposed a deadline for the PA to approve realignment, they didn’t, and here we are.

    That was just their practice lines today, because Phaneuf got the day off.
    He is expected to be in the lineup tommorow night and I really doubt he’ll be in the press box if he can play.
    As for Schenn coming out to make room for Komisarek, that’d be just retarded as Luke is by far the superior defender!

    didnt realize GREG MaKegg was traded to the London Knights. Awsome for his career hopefuly London goes on to the mem cup and he gains that experence. They have a pretty stacked team.

    With the new CBA close to hand the Players Assoc had to vote against this to get more leverage. Their response while logical is , I believe, a smoke screen. Buttman has not dealt with a Donald Fehr type before. This is going to be a very interesting clash with possible lock-out poised to be something the Leafs new Media ownership will exploit to the hilt. On this one I am very much on the players’ side.
