Lupul and our awkwardest All Star.

Kessel and Lupul will play alongside Tyler Seguin in Sunday’s All Star Game (4 p.m. EST, CBC). Said Kessel of the line combo: “I think the media will like it.”

In tonight’s skills competition, Phil Kessel will be taking part in the Fastest Skater competition, Dion Phaneuf will be competing for the Hardest Shot, and Joffrey Lupul will partake in the Elimination Shootout for Team Chara. All three will also take place in the Skills Challenge Relay, where Phaneuf and Lupul will be taking “one timers” and Kessel will be a target shooter.

    I hope he straightens himself out. Winnipeg sounds like a place with very few nightspots for these high profile guys to go to, word must spread very quick. I saw damn near half the All-Stars the other night and they all seemed well-behaved. Seguin was borderline. Truth be told, the hockey media guys partied harder than the players it seemed. I hope this town treated them well over the weekend. Many people consider Ottawa a small town too, but that’s a bit weird in my eyes. You hear stories once in a while but nothing crazy.

    Sorry, but Leafs didn’t even make the playoffs the year Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup. Conference finals against were in 2001/2002 and the Canes died in five with Red Wings in the SC finals. And we would be in the finals minus tons of injuries. MacCauley played at his best in those PO.

    Alfie led the Sens to the finals bowing out to BBs Ducks I believe.
    There are 2 ways to type on this site fellas. A leaf fan and a hockey fan in general. As leaf fans – we all all despise ( strong word ) Alfie and and the Sens. As general hockey fans – Alfie has been a very good player in the best league in the world. What’s that problem ? Bob Gainey and Bobby CLarke were good players too ! Alfie is no dirtier than anyone else that has played at this level. Classless ? No – go ask the parents of the kids that are terminally ill in the Ottawa region. Be big boys and admit – Alfie has been a solid player. That’s all the poster is saying. He’s a Leafer for sure but he typed his Alfie comments as a general hockey fan instead of a Leafer. Don’t crucify the guy.

    Man I just wish somebody take a slapper at the idiot when he’s doing his play by play between the benches..a good hard puck to the head would suit me just fine…a fitting place for Healy though as he spent many many games behind the bench riding the pine…

    They have Lebda though so Schenn would be their 2nd best d-man ;-)
