The Rick Nash situation continues to snowball this morning, as both he and Jeff Carter have been reported missing from Blue Jackets practice. The sense is that it’s a maintenance day, considering Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch followed up with news that Nash’s agent was unsure as to why his client was MIA.

Whatever the case, this has sent the social media world into a frenzy, as expected.

Via TSN.ca, Portzline also reports that the five teams on Nash’s “go-to list” are likely the Bruins, Kings, Rangers, Sharks and the Leafs.

Pavel Kubina is also missing practice for the Lightning, and they were pretty frank about addressing the situation.

From the team’s official Twitter account;

Kubina being held off the ice to protect the team’s interests. Has been asked for teams he would be willing to move to.

That may be the first time I’ve ever seen a team officially come out and say that over the internet.

It’s no secret that Ales Hemsky is likely on his way out of Edmonton. Watching him last night, I was blown away by the amount of skill at times, despite him being in midst of a not-so productive season. I’ve always been a pretty big fan of Hemsky, so while I don’t see him as a great fit with the Leafs, I’d likely change my tune if it were to go down. He isn’t big and scary like Dustin Penner, but he also isn’t terrible at hockey like Dustin Penner.

    Gardiner is only a year younger then Schenn and has about the same amount of points, I know everyone is getting hyped up because he’s knew but I haven’t felt like he’s been that spectacular

    He took horrible penalties all the time, I wasn’t nearly as impressed. He was ok, but let’s move on and give a kid in the system a shot first.

    I know that but players like Schenn don’t either, I know he’s had a bad season and ive been as disgusted with his play as much as the next but with a good offseason training camp like Kadri last year he could come back a completely different player next season

    schenn hasnt been impressive this year, could be an off yr for him,,,,but id rather package him to clb….i think there was talk of clb wanting schenn before toronto got him first, and therefore picked filatov

    Just think if Gardiner starts off bad next season, all of the sudden we got another 22yr old behind on his development that everyone wants out of town
