    If you remember, Burke could have resigned Sundin, but said that he doesn’t fit into his plans.

    Sabolsky was saying that him not resigning Sundin was his #1 mistake since becoming the GM of the Leafs.

    He stated that even though Sundin was 37 at the time, he still had a few good years left in him and has no doubt that if Sundin’s heart wasn’t broken by the Leafs, that he’d still be playing for him today and that him and Kessel would be dynamite together!

    About the Franson trade, he said at the time everybody was praising Burke and talking about how he raped Poile in the deal.

    However, take a look at what Lombardi and Franson are doing now.
    Lombardi has something like 6 goals, while Franson has been the whipping boy of both Wilson and Carlyle, seeing more time in the press box, than time in the lineup.

    Just finished wathing Belleville vs Ottawa (ott wins in Ot) but wasn’t impressed with gaunce. Hopefully it was a one off, but seemed lazy, awful on draws, not physical for a big guy.

    i think Burke said it but still the season had already started, although signing him would of been nice but it would of been another year of Burke when are u going to trade him and Sundin will u accept a trade.

    and he did sign for 8.6 million
