Click to visit the presale on Marlie playoff tickets.

Tonight the Leafs host the Tampa Bay Lightning in their final home game of the season before wrapping up the 2011-12 season at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Saturday. It’s tough to stay enthusiastic given the season was all but over ten-plus games ago, but try to enjoy your final 120 minutes of Leaf hockey until next October.

If you want to get your hands on Marlies tickets for Games 1 and/or 2 of the first playoff round, there is a presale happening today between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at ticketmaster.ca.

Links after the jump.

MORNING LINKS:

Now the Maple Leaf GM has a persecution complex
From Michael Langlois at Vintage Leaf Memories.

We’re all Marlies fans now
From Danny Gray at The Leafs Nation.

A reminder of the NHL lottery odds as they currently stand, looking ahead to next Tuesday
At sixth last with 78 points, the Leafs have a 6.2% of winning the lottery. If they fall behind the Islanders (77 points) and the Ducks (78 points, but losing the tiebreaker), their chances would go up to 10.7%.

Carl Gunnarsson won’t play in the final two games
He suffered a shoulder separation from that Foligno hit. The big loss for Gunnar is his inability to participate in the World Championships for Sweden.

Darcy Tucker compares Leafs teams
If we’re still paying him, may as well get some analysis.

Leafs’ Frattin fits Carlyle’s style
He certainly looked good alongside Kessel and Bozak last game.

Backhand Shelf podcast
The crew discusses Luongo/Schneider, Crosby/Milbury and more.

100% agree, I’d rather a long term than short term fix hands down.

Just my opinion , but I do not believe in tank nation. Why tank ? To get a higher draft pick you say. However, sometimes getting a higher draft pick does not guarantee the better player. if you look at the 2008 draft, you will see alot of good players picked after where Leafs picked ( no. 5)

I agree with the number of teams looking for goaltending help this coming season a Kipper will be a valuable commodity. Only two years left on his contract and his actual salary the last year s only 1 million. Even the poorly funded teams can afford him and if the CBC stays similar its a nice step towards the cap floor.

Jim Gregory was stopped by Ballard many times…Gregory wanted to resign Bernie Parent, but Ballard said no, and Parent went to the WHA….

Yep, one of many moves….Gregory did build a couple of good teams in spite of Ballard though. That team in the early 70′s was close and then came the WHA. Then Gregory re-built with young players and had the team on the cusp in ’79, then Ballard got in the act again.
