If you haven’t been able to get to a game at Ricoh and don’t have local Toronto Rogers TV, tonight is your first chance to get a good look at Marlies playoff action. Leafs TV will be broadcasting games 3, 4 and 5 live from Abbotsford, British Columbia. The games are late—10 p.m. (EST) starts—with Game 3 going tonight, Game 4 on Tuesday and Game 5 on Wednesday. The series sits 1-1 going into tonight’s game.

    Never seen Tinordi, but know he was a 1st rounder. I did see Harrington a couple of years ago while following Kadri. He must have been just a kid then, but I was impressed with him.

    Thanks. I’ve been following Naz since he was a youngster with the Rangers, and believe he has big-time potential. I know it’s not really a popular opinion here, but I think he will be a very very good NHL’er. Not to mention I want someone on our team who can bring you out of your seat with his playmaking/dangling.

    Pretty easy to do acquisition wise. Schenn for JVR. McLeod and Brookbank signed as UFA’s. MacArthur + for either Morrow or Bernier. Franson for the other.

    I do not believe Morrow is available though, nor do I think Burke would give up anything significant for him. The guy is broken down pretty badly. Constantly playing with a bad back, or a bad shoulder, or a bad leg. I also don’t think Burke has any interest in Bernier, who has basically been a much less impressive version of Reimer. I don’t see what support he would add that Gustavsson, or a veteran UFA back-up wouldn’t. McLeod and Brookbank would both be weak signings, and are nothing we don’t already have in our system.

    We’re a crappy team, dude. Granted, we are in a better position than we were 2-3 years ago…but we’re still a crappy team. Yeah, I’m a bit paranoid of losing players like Lups and Phil….if they lose faith and leave…we’re further behind the 8-ball. Not only do we have serious holes to fill (goalie / 1C / toughness)…but we also need to ensure the likes of Lupol (and the following year Kessel) get re-signed. On that note, I’ll spin myself another spliff and get down from my soapbox.

    No other team seems to have any difficulty doing this though – even ones far worse than us. You also predict this same disaster for all of our players, and they always end up resigning. Remember you and I used to frequently have this same discussion about Grabovski.? Turns out he likes it here though, and wasn’t lying about it.

    I’m just saying, ease-up with the paranoia. You’re going to give yourself a heart attack worrying about resigning players that are years away from making those decisions.

    We have holes to fill, like any other team. At the end of the day though, we aren’t a crappy team; we are a young team. Players aren’t as disloyal as you imagine them though. They want to be part of the solution – not run away at the first chance they get.

    Hope some of these pk’ers are plying trade at acc this fall. Damigo and Holzer would be good start. Add in scrivins for 20 odd games backing up luongo.
