lol, no need to be sorry
Yeah he might get a lot if Philly doesnt re-sign him i guess, Gunnerson was a very good d-man for us though and i wonder if moving him would affect Phaneuf. I would try and make a bigger move that would involve Franson and let us keep Gunner.
Wait…you used 2 players who left via different ways:
We allowed Mats to leave for nothing.
We traded Gilmour for Jason Smith, Steve Sullivan and Alan MacAuley.
Which would you prefer for Kessel?
If he can come in and fill in gunner’s shoes from last year i would be fine with moving him then. People might find it funny im saying this but Gunner was one of our best D-man last year. I dont really know much about Carle except he played with Pronger (i think)
Man i wish Mats stayed one more year. Than him and Kessel could make sweet music with each other and We would not have given up such a high draft pick.
I think the team has to succeed first with a new overall system that makes everyone more comfortable with defensive responsibilities without giving up a lot on offense, and once it becomes automatic, like the way the Kings played in the last half of the year, Grabbo might break out, depending on how his linemates are doing. These days 70-80 might be a stretch, only because of how hard it is for anyone to even hit the 100 mark. But a 70 season might be the equivalent of a 90 season in the good old days.
He could be or he could also not be but thats the risk you take in the free agent market. I dont think Burke will go after Carle in Free agency though if for nothing else he will look for some one bigger with more grit. I also dont see him making another huge commitment on the back end b/c we have so much young players in the minors that he will want there to be spaces open for a younger guy in the future. Also if we go all in for Shultz and can get him for cheaper i much rather go that route.
I like your proposal for Stewart, but I feel someone like Wayne Simmonds might be available for that sort of price, from the community him and JVR playing the wings with Grabo could bring him that 70 pt year! lol
I think fans have to float their salary expectations as the cap keeps going up. Five years ago the cap was $49 million and change. Now it’s at $70-million. $4-million is the new $3-million. Some paycheques seem like an overpayment but there’s more money for GMs to play with each year.
Especially if Kadri were to centre that top line.
I believe Colborne is going to be ready to make an impact at at the NHL level by Christmas though.
The wrist injury that he recently had surgery on is a big reason why he went from Player of the Month in October to a non-factor with the Marlies this season.
He has the size to dominate along the boards, and score gritty goals
realistically if season started today leafs r gonna b fighting for a playoff spot with this roster again with a high probability of missing it imo.
if we add a prust or a schultz sure it betters r chances but not a lock imo. burke needs to go after parise and suter hard bcuz they r potential game changers imo and it would cost us nothing but $ which we’ve given them enuff of, least they could do is spend it wisely for a change! i realize they might not want to come here but money talks.. im sure they’d atleast listen.. i realize too it would cause cap issues etc. but im sure burke and co. can get creative enuff to figure it out.. whether it involves trading/waiving/buyout they have the resources to pull it off.. hell i wouldnt mind overpaying for a C and/or G at that point with all the extra assets.. ahh but if only it was that easy..
holy shit people are up right now?
What’s interesting is that Schneider signs for 3 years not 1 as I figured he would if he did sign before moving Luongo.
