With no negotiations taking place in the past week-plus and a $250,000 payment due to the University of Michigan Friday, the Winter Classic officially got the axe today.

For me, the Winter Classic was spoiled the moment it became apparent the two sides were willing to cancel games and use the fans as a pawn in their greedy game. Say the season came back in time to save the Classic – would it have felt right jumping right back on board and supporting the league in its biggest event of the regular season?

    not sure what part of Ontario you are in but Allstate is by far the cheapest around from what I have experienced

    the more I think about this supposed “new offer” from the owners, the more I’m becoming more and more cynical. odd that they would leak this out mere hours after the cancellation of the WC. This PR war on both sides is really pissing me off. These calculated scripted steps. Cancel WC, look bad, but in a few hours let the leak out, look good again. And the PA is no better, they both suck.

    Watching the game last night, it’s pretty obvious that the atdhe feed isn’t HD, however I clicked on the “watch live” link to the right of the Marlies/Heat listing and it brought up a screen asking me if I want to download their new App.

    It says, “watch all live streams in HD and more…” and just so happens to be free.

    Does anybody know if it actually gives you an HD feed if you download the App?
