With no negotiations taking place in the past week-plus and a $250,000 payment due to the University of Michigan Friday, the Winter Classic officially got the axe today.

For me, the Winter Classic was spoiled the moment it became apparent the two sides were willing to cancel games and use the fans as a pawn in their greedy game. Say the season came back in time to save the Classic – would it have felt right jumping right back on board and supporting the league in its biggest event of the regular season?

    I think Frattin is the right guy to put with Colborne as he needs a guy that can finish. There were many plays down low where Joe controlled play but didn’t have any outlet to dish to. Frattin seems to find open ice and has a quick shot. Hope he gets back in action soon.

    Checked out the TSN 1050 online feed and you definitely can’t hear them there, lol.

    hahah im waiting him to drop an F bomb, or chirp bettman, or something like that. I’ve watched a bunch of these raw feeds and sometimes they chirp guys off air lol

    Yea, overall to date, I’d say the Marlies are lacking finish. Guys like Colborne and Kadri are better creators, drawing defenders, but those guys need finishers with them. Ashton, Hamilton, Zig, Kom, d’amigo, Scott…just no finshers, all grinders. Frattin will bolster their output playing with either of Colborne or Kadri, but at the very minimum, depending on how quick he gets back into game shape, Frattin will definitely help this offence.

    My feeling ? Too many guys on the roster . Everyone is tight and afraid to make mistakes for fear of being taken out of the line up

    I wonder if the extra bodies they are carrying is messing with players heads. Have a bad game, 4 guys ready to step in. Some thing has to give with NHL and spill down effect on minors.
