    The owners want 5 year max players sat out a year and where getting 10 plus year deals. If they dont meet at 7 or 8 years, we’re not watching hockey imo.

    Yup thing of beauty. With the greatest hockey play ever. Lemieux through the skates. It was the moment every Canadian saw that Lemieux was the greatest hockey player around. On a bad hip even.

    so they are fighting for about 75 players not 700. That’s about all that have contracts 6 yrs or more

    Then the players wont get paid for a year lost! And I f that Happens the PA wont have a leg to stand on to negotiate next season!

    If the league goes to 7, I can’t see the players not meeting them on that one – how many players actually get contracts longer than that anyways?  Like 1% of the league?  It sounds like it’s a lot of the ELC and 2nd contract busting deals that has the players in a rage.

    I think 6 might be the magic number, quite a few 6 year deals where signed right at the end of the last CBA.

    It really doesn’t have anything to do with the players . They will always get their full share regardless. Its to prevent the like of Leopold and Snider from doing what they are doing
