Dude, they could lockout hockey for the next 2 years…MLHS would survive..no problem.  The thing I like about it here is that it has developed into it’s own little community (with no actual borders as there are regulars posting here from all over North America and even some across the pond).  We may disagree and have the occasional spat….but at the end of the day we all respect one another and our love for the sport.  This really is a special place to hang my hat.

On death of Kings PA announcer RT @helenenothelen David Courtney started working for Kings in 1970s. He saw them win the Cup last spring.. But because of lockout he didn’t get to be the voice of their banner-raising ceremony. Just too sad to think about.

I think Physical Graffiti was their high water mark. After that album I believe their behaviour / habits started to effect their productivity.

As an aside of have the Robert Plant-Allison Krause album Raising Sand that is terrific if you like a mixture of CW and Bluegrass performed by 2 great voices.

Yeah, when they got to a point where Page was too strung out on heroin and had to sit on a stool for pretty much an entire gig…well, let’s say the magic was dissipating. 

Apparently Plant turned down a reunion tour after the O2 gig in London a few years ago (Page, JP Jones, and Jason Bonham were all on board)….because he wanted to continue touring and recording with Allison Krause.  Thx for the tip on Raising Sand….I will DL it and check it out.

Hey Mind Bomb…about Rush….I could never really get into them.  Funny enough, they were my first rock concert (Signals tour at the Gardens back in ’82…I had greys).  I just find their music too complicated is all (and I’m not a big fan of synthesizers).  Geddy’s voice is like nails down a chalkboard for me.  I will say one thing though…I do love blasting Working Man on occasion.

Zep IV is timeless.  I went to a Classic Albums Live presentation at the Phoenix a few years ago where IV was showcased…and was blown away.  Levee, Going to Cali, and Battle Of Evermore….pure bliss.

Really??  That sounds interesting.  I’ve never seen that.  I have The Making Of Pump (Aerosmith) which is kinda cool.
