Monday Morning Links

So they’re meeting tomorrow but with different people this time screw it, here’s some links:

NHL owners and players to meet Tuesday in NY
Larry Tanenbaum will be among those attending tomorrow’s players-owners meeting. Unfortunately, so will Jeremy Jacobs (what an asshole).

Nugent-Hopkins is in for the WJC, if healthy
Even more than usual, this tournament will get way too much attention in Canada, but who can blame us? And Morgan Rielly will be there for Leafs fans to ogle over. Too bad about the getting up early stuff.

The Marlies bounce back with three wins in three nights
Nazem Kadri, Matt Frattin and Jake Gardiner continued their great play this weekend. Still inauspiciously absent is Joe Colborne (who was scratched Sunday).

Abbott makes big impact in Marlies win
Abbott, the signing out of the college ranks late last season, got an opportunity in Colborne’s place and continues to make the most of his opportunities when they come his way. That’s now nine points in six appearances. Also nice to see some praise for Ross (bottom of the article), who has had to be patient through the first two months of the season.

Exactly, we should be talking about how Burke’s gamble paid off and how Reimer proved everybody wrong by showing just how good he really is when he is 100% healthy!

If they only have two or three preseason games I could see a 56-60 game sched. To be honest I would rather have the playoffs start when they normally do and have a few less regular season games.

I agree, the last thing we need is the Stanley Cup being awarded in July!!

I for one think the regular season should start in September, with the playoffs starting in March and being done by the May 2-4 weekend :)

I wouldn’t mind that … training camp would have to open around mid-August.
