A little late on the news; we wanted to make sure you guys checked out the inaugural MLHS podcast.

Jake Gardiner has been sent down to the Toronto Marlies to rediscover his timing and confidence in the AHL. His poor decision making with the puck and numerous bobbles have been uncharacteristic to say the least, and James Mirtle makes the point that he’s just the latest in a line of Leafs who have shown even more rust than we expected coming off a concussion. A young player being sent down to get up to speed after a significant injury layoff is obviously nothing to worry about, at least not yet.

Meanwhile, I hope Mike Komisarek takes full advantage of his opportunity tomorrow night. For the first time since he got here, I can say with a straight face that, forgetting one costly penalty vs. the Pens, Komisarek deserves to be in the lineup. Maybe – okay, likely – he’s just been the beneficiary of some good timing when it comes the team’s performance in the two games he played versus the two he didn’t, but he’s nonetheless been a plus-three in around 15 minutes of ice time each game. His physical play, experience and tendency to stay close to home are qualities the Leafs blueline could use but it’s always a question of how many mistakes he’s going to make.

He’ll be returning to the lineup following a game in which none of the Leafs’ D looked good, especially not fellow fringe defenceman Cody Franson, who I thought played his worst game in a Leaf sweater with a direct hand in two goals against.

Ball’s in your court, Mike. Surprise us all.

PK Subban will take the weekend with family and agents, to evaluate what’s next after talks with the Canadiens today.

Id tell the Rangers to piss off.

Here is why….I think PK can be the game changer, the face of a franchise and so much more. Del Zotto is vanilla ice cream. Actually more of a gelato I guess.

For all we know, he was right and Burke got fired before he could give Gilles Kadri and Gardner for Lou.

RC’s approach to practice after last night was a littke unexpected, at least by the msm.

I am almost certain that Burke said no-way to Kadri and Gardiner for Lou and the brass lost it on him.

The more and more I see of Carlyle the more I realize a huge part of his style  is motivation and mental preparation. We were lead to believe he’s a nasty SOB but not so. Far cry from the Wilson days

That’s one place he definitely won’t go. They can’t afford his demands, and they worked hard to get Del Zotto to take a discount.

    Yeah. NYR is out.

Philly and Toronto would make the most sense FOR  Subban.   From a MTL perspective its way way way far from the East.

nyr could trade Mike Rupp or Taylot Pyatt (both make 1.5mil)  and fit PK in at 4mil as MDZ makes 2.55

That and his expectations are clear, hard work, be prepared, he gives them the information and training required to meet his expectations. He probably becomes a nasty SOB with guys who just don’t get it.

RW on the other hand, one never seemed to know whether he was blowing hot or cold. I did enjoy his interviews though. LOL
