The agent for Phil Kessel joined Greg Brady and Jim Lang to discuss the evolution of Kessel’s game, his mindset during the scoring drought and how the forward feels about playing in Toronto.

Said Wade Arnott:

“Phil (Kessel) is still a really young man,” Arnott told the SportsNet Fan590. “He really enjoys living in Toronto and playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs.”

“This young man lives and breathes hockey. He was very excited to come here four years ago. I think if you asked Phil today, he’d love to finish his career here in Toronto. But it’s still young in his career right now.”

“Phil would like nothing more than to help the Maple Leafs make the playoffs. He wants to experience playoff hockey here in Toronto,” said Arnott. “That’s the first step to winning a potential Stanley Cup here in Toronto.

“He was very disappointed last year. They had a very good start to the season. They were in a playoff position at the turn of the calendar year and unfortunately the last third of the season didn’t go well.”

    I know they do, which is why I was considering letting my 1st round pick (Tulowizki) go and keeping a later round pick, knowing that if the people who pick 1-3 keep their 1st round selection from last year, I’d be able to simply redraft Tulo or whoever is the best available, while also keeping that later round pick :)

    With it being a random draft, I could get burnt if I try that.

    Man are we all that old? lol  now back to hockey.  Id give up ROR for Jake Gardiner but I would require a secondary deal that moves Grabovski to free up a center position for ROR.  Otherwise, I stand pat.  Kadri cant be dealt, Bozak is that guy who wins draws and can play in every situation and always will and he is getting better year over year.  So what is the gap between ROR and Grabo?  I have never watched ROR play so have no idea.

    Never in a million years would I follow op moving Gardiner for O’Reilly with shipping out Grabo. If we get O’Reilly, it will be to have the center depth of him, Grabo and Kadri. O’Reilly isn’t going to be that much better than Grabo to justify moving Gardiner just so O’Reilly can take Grabo’s place. Grabo is not a good player to trade, because he is worth much more to our team than he is in a trade.

    I wouldn’t trade Gardiner quite yet.. there is something special about him
