GDT: Canadiens at Maple Leafs (7:30 p.m., TSN)

Here we go.

Randy Carlyle will dress all of Colton Orr, Mike Brown and Frazer McLaren for tonight’s highly-anticipated rematch with the Canadiens.

Typically, there isn’t the carry over you expect in these type of bad-blood rematch games. Both teams focus on winning the game first. There’s a possibility the Habs will be bitter enough about Colton Orr running Pleckanec and then one punching Rene Borque to the ice, and Grabovski‘s alleged bite on Pacioretty, that they’ll show no hesitancy in taking a run at some of the Leafs skilled players. The Leafs are well prepared if the game goes that way. The Habs would be smart to forget that stuff and try to stick to their usual road gameplan – they’re 4-1-2 on the road despite outscoring their opponents just 17-15.

Go Leafs Go.

Maple Leafs still lack conditioning.  Or they need to blood-dope. It’s one of the 2.

    my take
weak effort overall but 1st line was pretty much terrible …Kessel ? JVR ?
Scabs beat us to the puck all night
we could not clear the puck from our zone all night …Gards missed here for that
refs were brutal but not main reason

overall sloppy lazy effort ..compare to the game in Montreal ( game of the year so far )

looked like 2 different teams tonight from that game
Fraser only one to me who looked solid

next game bounceback time from this debachle I hope

Shift my contention is that the officiating league wide stinks. Like corruption, game management, soccer style game fixing bad. That face off was exhibit A for that. It broke a friggin tie.

Montreal shouldn’t be that happy. Not every game the bet will be on their side.

    @Steve_HC:disqus

Leafs may have been outshot in the first period but we were taking it to Montreal physically and you could see it was starting to effect them… Then a terrible call on Brown, one of which the TSN panel agreed with us. As far as I’m concerned, the Refs played their roll tonight and we just sat back and did nothing about it. First line was terrible again…

At least Liles and Gardiner can get the puck out of their own end. MAy not be the most physical but they are smart

Even some of the really great teams have long periods where they struggle to find consistency.  I mean, where were the Blackhawks last season?  They’re the exact same team this year, but last year they were fighting for 8th.  Now they’re unbeatable, and everyone will forget they were wildly inconsistent last year.  Boston is another example – undefeated in November last year, and as a result, every losing streak they had there after was completely washed aside and ignored.

The league’s parity makes true consistency extremely hard to come by.
