With so many Phaneuf haters, it would be funny to see how many fans would be hoping to get him if he were available. I thought he had a solid year though.

What a piece of shit trade, we are in trouble if we keep giving away players like this. Nonis are you out of your fucking mind

can't see bernier and reimer co-existing for long....suspect that nonis thinking of moving reimer while his recent top performance against boston  still resonates---who needs a goalie besides edmonton and philly who have assets to trade

philly has simmonds etc--oilers have several young hot shot fwds better than frattin as well as high pick

wouldn't surprise me to see reimer gone before the draft

It's not like Nonis is trading Phanuef for Seguin. He will get real value.

Welcome to silly season! Phaneuf isn't going to Edmonton, they hate him there.

I don't mind the Leafs going with the Chicago goaltending model. It's worked out alright for them...

The Mayor John Hoven ‏@mayorNHL

Classic Lombardi on the call. He's clearly not happy that the $500K in cap relief aspect came out. Seems he was asked to not mention by TOR

How in fuck did they think they could keep that secret

Wow... today reminds me of the Phaneuf trade all over again

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Leafs fans will love Jonathan Bernier. He is the real deal, folks. Believe you me.

XProteautype:: NHL people I've talked to say Bernier has a shot at being a big-time impact player. Haven't heard anyone say the same of Frattin/Scrivens.

@ionsys two Masterton nominees, two young kids on a young team. I'm sure they'll co-exist just fine, no need to create that BS. They're both respectful and blossoming young players, no reason they both cant be huge for our club.

@moimoi Oh yea? I take it your in pretty tight with the New EDM management group that now includes Dallas Eakins? tard....

OMG it's Scrivens and Frattin were talking about, not Clark.

You mean do we really need to improve the team?

You take the best player available when they become available. We got Kessel before we needed to.

@Frattking @Xxxxxnew You can never not need more potential fanchise goaltenders. its a position you ALWAYS wanted sured up

@Cameron19 @WatsonB @moimoi Yea, im sure he knows nothing of him, or wouldn't like to have him just because he didn't directly coach him, but was in the same organization as him for what? 3 or 4 years?

Not really. It just drunk talk.

@Cameron19 @Savo43 He was a top pairing Dman in Minnesota, and SJ loved him as a forward, he provided a Byfuglien type effect for them that has been known to defeat the team theyve had the most trouble with in past years (the Vancouver Canucks). Had nothing to do with not trusting him, but believe so if you wish.

Savo43

@Cameron19 @Savo43 Btw, who on the Wild was on the first pairing when he was there then? He was a top line Dman Cameron, that only changed in SJ when they transitioned him to forward after losing Clowe.

Cameron19

@Savo43 @Cameron19 You can check his QOC stats through his career to see.  I checked them when he was a trade rumor earlier in the year.  Outside of World Championships - which we always lose - he's always been on a 2nd pair, playing 2nd tier forwards.  SJS didn't even trust him as a defensemen.

Savo43
Savo43

@Cameron19 @Savo43 Oh okay, if you say so, if he's 2nd line, then he's definitely never played against top line players before. LOL.

Savo43
Savo43

@Cameron19 @Savo43 PS: Man, how do you try and get away with saying he's never played against top competition btw? As though you've followed Burns long enough BY THE GAME, to know he doesn't play against top competition. For the love of god. Just cuz you don't like it doesn't mean you should toss out words that aren't even true LOL.

Savo43
Savo43

@Cameron19 @Savo43 LOL. He's in the NHL, and he's played for Canada, i'm sure he's played against top competition. *smdh*

Cameron19
Cameron19

@Savo43 @Cameron19 Pass on that trade. Our team gets much worse. Burns has never played against top competition as a defender.  Our D would be shredded.
