#Leafs will sign Cody Franson. One year, 2 mil dollar deal set to be announced. Big paycut gets him to UFA. Wants to play, clearly.

Does anyone know when Voracek and Callahan will be back? I have them in my fantasy league and wondering if I should trade them?

I think Liles will be sent to the Marlies. As much as I like the guy, I can't see him staying with the big club. He's barely played in the pre-season to try and earn a spot and when he has he's meh at best.

Just got done drafting my work keeper league and was wondering what you guys think:

LW: Neal (K) and Ladd

C: Tavares (K), Backstrom and Kesler

RW: Kessel (K), Voracek and Callahan

D: Phaneuf (K), Byfuglien (K), Enstrom, Gardiner and Muzzin

G: Rinne (K), Bernier, Reimer and Halak

Bozie over Grabo was plain stupid.  Grabo was a keeper.  Watch him shine in an offensive role.

Did anyone else hear someone yell "Then why are you paying him like that?" when Nonis said he didn't bring Clarkson in as a 30 goal scorer. lol

Wow Grabo looking great in his two games with the Caps so far.  5 assists, three of which were primary and playing with his usual energy on the ice

@leafsince93

Great deal for leafs for this year.   He' could be worth triple next year and getting himself to an UFA was a smart play on his behalf.    Of course....the flip side is is the young D on the Marlies are developing fast and Rielly and Garndner are still looking like the future I'd say look for the leafs to trade either Phanuf or Franson near the deadline this season.   JMHO but I'm saying it's Dion.

@GreekGod    I'd wager Liles to be partnered with a prospect and traded for a draft pick that way we dump salary and get none in return.    Liles still has plenty to offer its just who's needs at this moment.

@.JVR. Looks solid, like the taveras Kessel combo.

I am drafting 1st overall..who you take Crosby or Stamkos?

@TuckerForPunishment Relax TFP, lets let the season happen ;) . Grabovski at 5.5 was just retarded theres really not much more that can be said.

@Nikhil Daljeet

Yea, but it's pre season. I remember Stalberg scoring 8 goals in the pre season once...

Not really sure who the winner is here and I think the best decision is too trade him. His value is SUPER high and if a team can sign him to a 2yr contract then they will have him at an amazing price.

Honestly, I have no idea what the Leafs are going to do with Liles. With Gardiner, Franson and Ranger set for a pay bump + Raymond (lets be honest he is prob going to have an amazing season) + everyone else who contract ends, we cannot have a $3.8m caphit sitting in the press box.

Trade him (Franson) now while we can get a 1st rnd + a decent prospect.

@JMAC17

Depends what style of pool it is.

If it's H2H, I'd probably take Crosby, as he's likely to get more assists and points than Stamkos, with a better +/-.

If it's a Points Pool and Goals are worth more than Assists, take Stamkos.

@.JVR. @JMAC17 points are even for goals and assist...FW get 2 points per and dman get 3 points per...+1 bonus point for a PP or SH point

@Jimmy Keating @Savo43 @Loric76 @TuckerForPunishment agreed. hes not a completely useless player, but rewatching our series with a close eeye on him throughout the games, he was nowhere near as good as i originally thought. One of our worst fwds. For the Bozie haters, Bozie was muchhhh better.

Grabo topped out with 57 pts on a season that had his linemates shooting at unreasonably high shooting percentages (AKA: Lucky). He's a selfish player with poor playing making ability and bad shot/pass selection.

He was completely useless in the playoffs when the intensity/physicality ramped up. He was physically dominated and was lying on the ice yelling at the ref more than he was contributing to the team anything worthwhile.

He worked hard and gets a lot of respect from me for that, but he's not as good as people are making him out to be. The Grabo fanboys on twitter are upset because he's a fancystat wet dream; it doesn't make him a good player because he has a high Corsi rating.

Also, he's 30 years old and won't be turning into a 60 pts center anytime soon.

@Loric76

Meh, we'd still have Bozak over Grabovski then

.JVR.
.JVR.

@Loric76

I would have rather have let Bozak walk and use the 2nd compiance buyout on Liles instead of Grabovski.

Grabovski ($5.4 million) + Franson ($3.0 million) = $8.4 million

Bozak ($4.2 million) + Liles ($3.875 million) = $8.075 million

I know what two I'd rather have

@.JVR. @Savo43

Yup and Bozak looked pretty good in the playoffs while playing injured to boot.

@Savo43

It might only be preseason, but Grabovski's 3 assists look pretty good tonight.

Savo43

@Loric76 @Savo43 @TuckerForPunishment Yeah i'm curious as to which team out there would've offered Bozak 4+? But eh, lets see if he can show us something during the season. Preseason doesnt mean much for a guy like him, fresh off a deal, already on the team, im sure he's just working on timing, and rhythm and so fourth. He'll get better with reps.

GreekGod

@mattobv @GreekGod @Nikhil Daljeet

Yup his whole 3 assists that he got in last years playoff run I'm sure really helped Chicago win the cup.

Just like Seguin really helped Boston win the cup in his rookie year...

Savo43

@Loric76 @Savo43 @Nikhil Daljeet @peterbleafs alright you're on! hahah. I'll bet...Bolland gets more points against the caps than Grabo gets against us, and not because i think ill be right, but just so my bet seems to oppose your notion more lollll.

Savo43
Savo43

@Loric76 @Savo43 @Nikhil Daljeet @peterbleafs There are far bigger threats out there than Grabovski lolll. His falling out with the Habs was worse, and his attitude was horrible in his final year here. He'll pay for that attitude and his words when he plays us, he won't thrive. Farmers bet? ;)

Savo43
Savo43

@Loric76 @Nikhil Daljeet @peterbleafs I look forward to Dion catching him with his head down lolll. Grabo will do will with that team though yes, maybe Oates is teaching him how to pass with his head UP? =O

ProfessorRance

@Loric76 @Nikhil Daljeet @peterbleafs Yup I agree Loric. Good for him. Our team is more solid with Bolland as our shutdown center and Grabo with thrive in Washington. Could see him doing what Ribeiro did for them last year.
