Four straight regulation losses to teams below them in the Eastern Conference standings, knocking them out of a wildcard spot, have the Maple Leafs at an all time low in the Randy Carlyle era. Here’s another team nearby in the East the Leafs need to be able to beat in the Devils, who are tied with the Maple Leafs with 47 points through 46 games. Like the Rangers and Islanders earlier in the week, the Devils are coming into the ACC in the second game of a back to back (beat the Panthers in OT last night).
Compounding the Leafs’ issues, it sounds like a group of Leaf players are suffering from either the flu or food poisoning. Either a team dinner took place with some bad chicken present or the brown bottle flu has spread after a shaker at Phil and Tyler’s last night.
Jonathan Bernier is expected to start again for the Leafs. No word yet on whether Paul Ranger steps in or if the defence remains the same.

Boston without Seidenberg, maybe the most under-rated D man in the NHL, so maybe Leafs can sneak out a win.
@Jmessih Incomplete report, but I thought Clarkson showed some game tonight yet barely played. Randy went with Jay McC instead, including a shift in bloody overtime.
@JmessihLmao what? Oh wait he's talking about how the Leafs only twice were able to get the puck out of their zone on the first try in the first period.
But, it should have been 3-2. Be thankful for the 1 point, we were robbed.
@Jmessih The game of hockey was robbed for having to watch your team DeBore.
@Jmessih Go soak you head DeBoer . You got a freakin gift
@JmessihAnd he got a goal called back too lol Perfect...
@JmessihDon't worry this ref will be reviewed and he won't be in the NHL long, if he constantly screws up
@Jmessih Now we have to hear this stupid the leafs haven;t one in regulation since 1983
@wiski None, really? Id like to know how they define i because there were at least 2 good chances in OT alone
@reenergizedno. they can outskate forechecking
@Shift_Disturber1Handzus and the Hawks had a case on Sat. against the Habs too. Wasn't as bad, but still should have counted. These count during the playoffs, when they matter. Funny how that goes.
@Shift_Disturber1 Hes had goals called back twice, Habs and tonite. He's an authority on the subject. good call JVR
@mr_hanie Coming back from a long western road trip as well . The 1st game back is always tough
@reenergizedNot a big fan of this parity. It's almost like musical chairs. I miss the days of being home and cooled in February and being able to just enjoy the game where it's not life and death to make the playoffs every night.
@reenergized But have to be losing virtually every tie breaker. They are going to have to out-point their opponents flat out.
@reenergized 1 point out of the wild card spot.
@Waiting4LSC Ass hereby covered.
@Waiting4LSC BULLSHIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rusty, just relaying what the mouthpiece reported. NHL is never wrong, NHL is never wrong, NHL is never wrong !!!!!!! :>
