Shark Club Game Day Thread: Canadiens at Maple Leafs (7 p.m., CBC)

Can the Leafs make it four in a row for the first time this season? A Hockey Day in Canada marquee matchup against the Habs sounds like the perfect occasion.

Toronto enters this game six points back of Montreal for third place in the Atlantic Division, meaning they could make it four while also distancing themselves four points clear of the Ottawa Senators, who are nipping at their heels for that last wildcard spot but lost to the New York Rangers 4-1 earlier today.

Toronto will be without the injured David Clarkson, something they’re not exactly unused to. Troy Bodie will step onto the fourth line while Carter Ashton presumably joins Nik Kulemin and Peter Holland on line three.

The Leafs will look to avenge a bit of an embarrassing outing in their last meeting with the Canadiens in Montreal, where they only seemed to wake up once Max Pacioretty scored the 4-0 goal late in the second period – a shorthanded, backhanded squeaker on Bernier – and capped it off with an excalibur sword celebration.

If you aren’t already fired up for this game, especially after watching this HNIC montage below, you’re on the wrong website.

GO LEAFS GO.

Carlyle gets a lot of grief , especially over his handling of Kadri.

Kadri had one of his best games of the year. Carlyle responded by putting him on the ice for the last minute and Kadri was great

No one , other  than Dave Feschuk or Steve Simmons , should criticize that

I have to say a lot has fallen back into place since Bozak returned.

@Dangle_My_Berries Hockey Day in Canada.  The Flames thought they'd top off the day by beating on the most universally hated team in the country

@Loric76 Does anybody know what is the highest number of players ever to fit into a penalty in the NHL?

@Loric76 And that was preceded by Bozak saying that the thought Kadri had played well for the Leafs this year.

@TheCanucksnaphook I could have seen it if the Leafs were up by a couple going into the 3rd but this is exactly why the Leafs get so little scoring from their bottom 6.

@Zep2 I noticed that.  Kadri has to learn how to get himself in that state of focus all the time

@Loric76@MaxwellHowe Don't know, but the last time the Leafs played them we got slaughtered and Bolland had his tendon slashed - so shouldn't be hard to improve on that putcome

@Loric76 @mcloki @Shift_Disturber1 The Atlanta games were the 9-7 games with fightingall over the lace. It was Jansen in Jersey. Complete cheap shot. Kabby wasn't the same after that.
