Since the Maple Leafs took four of a possible six points to start a tough five-game road trip, they have dropped three straight games in regulation to Eastern Conference foes near them in the standings. Barely a week ago, fans were talking about locking up the #2 seed in the Atlantic Division; now, the team has had their playoff chances drop to 65.5% with a massive game looming Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens.
The Leafs have 11 games remaining and probably need to win at least six just to make the playoffs. Opponents ahead of them are distancing themselves from the Leafs while teams behind them are catching up. What do you think, is this team going to snap out of it and make the playoffs, or are they going to continue this tumble and slide right out of a playoff spot, 18-wheeler style?
Leaf fans must realize that this Club will never be a contender.
This is a business and the owner's are not forced to obtain strong Hockey Mgmt and/or Player's, however continue to generate a HUGE profit.
END OF STORY.
If the private/corporate sector want a "Winner" , stop buying season tickets and sending their customer's to the game.
If their "Pocket Book" is affected it won't be long before they have no choice but to provide a better product.
Play-off time = collapse time. Only reason we were there last year is due to the shortened season. They are losers and always will be. Stop putting money in the franchises pockets and cheer for anyone else.
Leaf fan turned Bruins fan.
@Jordan29 Like I said. He'll have a 98 save shutout.
@Belfour20 we will never know
@TheCanucksnaphook Yes, nothing was here and you missed it.
@Jordan29 Bernier told the scrum he probably won't be back until he does a full practice, which he did not do today. So who knows? I suspect we may not know until game time or possibly the morning skate.
@Jordan29 Both coming back next game and Bernier will score 3 goals. While Bolland has a 98 save shutout.
@Belfour20 Is this in reference to a recent interview? If so, when and where?
MLSE sales/marketing guy came into our lecture last week to talk about his career (alumni) and he could not stop talking good things about Lieweke. He said every employee there (slight exaggeration probably) has bought into what he is saying and they all believe something special is happening and championships are coming. He said when Lieweke brought up the parade it inspired everybody.
I know people are going to make things sound better when they talk to schools but this guy was honestly not bullshitting, he could not stop talking positive about Lieweke and MLSE and was clearly way more into his job than the other speakers
@Belfour20 Thats what Im saying... some here thinks he just talks, but I believe he really does back it up... and TFC looks great so far... raps great
@Belfour20 He just fucked up calling Simmons smart lololol
@Burtonboy Looks like matching sandals too.
@Burtonboy Part of his signing bonus they can't announce until the summer :)
@Belfour20 @lister It's there right now. http://www2.tsn.ca/window/podcastcentre/#id==29586&id=13
@Belfour20 @ingy56 @CanuckUKinToronto Yes, Expos really lost out too. Obviously hockey carries a much deeper passion for me and probably everyone here, but I used to support the Blue Jays quite a bit. I would go to 20-30 games a year and was at the game Carter won the Series. I've been to maybe 3 games since.
@Belfour20 @lukethenuke This guy is demanding . He desperately wants all 4 teams under the MLSE umbrella in the playoffs at the same time . My guess is if the Leafs don't make it he 's gonna ask some pretty blunt questions to the people running and coaching the Team. From what I've seen so far this guy isn't just some big bullshitter
It was unfortunate that after waiting for years he came over just in time for the lockout where his AHL contract paid him $62,000 for a full season.
