MLSE president & CEO Tim Leiweke says that the Raptors are feeding off of the enthusiasm their fans are displaying at the ACC and “Jurassic Park,” a passion that other teams in the league have taken notice of. Tim Leiweke on the fan-fuelled Raptors, Sterling fallout, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brendan Shanahan and more. Sportsnet 590.
THE A KINGS WILL RULE THE NHL FOR 4 MORE YEARS. THEY DON'T GET THE CREDIT THEY DESERVE. IMAGINE IF THE MAPLE LEAFS WON THE STANLEY CUP 2 OF THE PAST 3 YEARS
I just need to comment on the earlier point from Timmy saying that for those who didnt believe, Shanny and Nonis are getting on greatly... It has only been 16 days.. I can get along with my mother in law for 16 days....
wait the the stuff hits the fan.. then check back...
I am so done with so many leaf fans. On twitter today many are saying (and still right now) that no other team would ever give Bozak 4.2 mil as a UFA.....so stupid, just so stupid
I just bumped into Dick Duff at my local Pet Value here in Port Credit. What a super nice guy he is. Dude must be in his 80's now....and talks to his dog constantly. Apparently he lives around the corner from me. Small world.
"As God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again. No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill. As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again."

Gee, now I feel all warm inside. lol
Just having a listen to the Leiweke interview above now.
Interesting he mentions the team taking on the personality of it's leader. The example was the Raptors taking on Masai's personality.
So did the Leafs take on Nonis's and if they did and it is not acceptable; does that mean Noni gots to go?
I remember last year when he got the contract, 75% at least on here were up in arms, saying he wasn't worth it.
He has clearly demonstrated he is.
@Jordan29 If he continues to play like he did in his first year of the contract it is actually a great deal and he would get more if he went to free agency this year
@Jordan29 I rarely speak on twitter, I have little patience for the diatribe that spews out of people there. It's a news medium to me, nothing more
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan Funny story, I told him how much I liked him as a Leaf and he whipped out a picture from his pocket and signed it for me. My buddy was talking to him too and he also gave him a signed picture , but my friend said he really liked him as a Hab. Duffy never missed a beat, said "Oh yeah? ", reached into his other pocket and pulled out a picture of him as a Hab and signed it for him.
@Bon Scott was a Leaf fan Met him a year or so back myself. What a super guy is right. He was one of my heroes as a kid. I was really upset when he was traded.
@Burtonboy lol someone should troll him over this. Be like you should be saying go Leafs right now LOL
@rustynail That's an old one?
I thought I had it down until I talked to Rogers last night about my renewal for my TV, Internet and home phone.
After I negotiated a flat fee of $163 for unlimited Internet, unlimited LD in Canada and the Rogers VIP cable package, the first bill was $240, I lost it when they told me their billing was correct.... long story short, they credited it back to be only $163 a month but I had to threaten to quit and go to Bell... this is after I have been a customer for 25 years!
@wiski Boy, I have a long way to go. I've actually gone backwards on the temper thing LOL
@wiski Which takes a long time for most to learn lol
@Bobsyouruncle I'm not sure what that is all about but as far as I'm concerned they can all lick me. LOL
@ShiftyD I think orderly changes, first things first...coach and maybe some management changes off the bat. Then I think the scouting leadership will be affirmed or changed really fast.
@ShiftyD WHen it comes to big changes, I believe them when I see them. As of right now, I expect Nonis to be the GM on opening day, I expect the core players to be back, I don't expect anything huge to happen in the off-season. The only change I expect, as of April 30th, is a new coach.
I want to see big changes, I hope they make big changes - in the front office and on the ice. I'd be happy if jus tthe front office stuff happens this off-season and the off-ice comes during the year and next year. But right now, I'm not expecting it.
@ShiftyD Absolutely. Both management and player side . Cripes Shanny is even talking to the janitor to see what needs to be changed lol
@ShiftyD His mood sure changed when he started talking about the Leafs.
@ShiftyD More like Shanny's personality.
@Greg Fenton @ShiftyD Yes. I'll believe it when I see it as well. I think their is some rot in the management group. What I've heard these guys say and say often, often does not sync with reality. It could be a function of them offering something suitable for public consumption but I don't feel confident that it is. A clean sweep wouldn't hurt. Let Shanny bring in his own people to fill these roles.
In the coaching dept at the very, very minimum the 2 hold overs from the Wilson era have to go but a clean sweep could work wonders.
Pretty tall order for change to make it all happen this off season. LOL
The core players were, mostly, here before Carlyle. Carlyle was hired by Burke. Nonis was GM before Lieweke was hired. Everyone's boss was hired after them. I think it needs to work the other way around.
But I think thats more a case of the coach sharing the GM's personality and style, and the star players being on the same page as the coach, so all 3 elements are together, rather then the GM being the one who is bringing everyone in line - if tht makes sense.
I don't personally agree with him the teams take on the identity of the front office people. I don't think the team took on BUrkes personality, and we saw two different Leaf teams with the same GM in charge the last 2 years.
I think teams take on the personalities of their coaches, and their star players. Often times the coaches and GM's are on the same page (at least with good teams), and the best players play a way they want them too. I think thats part of the issue/problem with the Leafs today. They are build from the bottom up, not the top down, so that attitude/style thing is flowing the wrong way.
