[Video]Press Conference: Randy Carlyle staying, extended 2 years
So lessons to learn here:
Kessel has no heart because as a 19 yr old he took 3 weeks off to get chemo and surgery.
Phaneuf has no heart because he won't fight 4th liners
Carlyle isn't to blame for anything, because he has heart.
Can we go back to being the board where smart people post?
@Cameron19 Wait Cam, I thought you said he played through Chemo, and thus has a lot of heart?
@Cameron19 none of that was posted?
ESPECIALLY #3 where you missed the last 5 painful hours!
@Cameron19 That went a long time ago, back in the old wordpress days.
@Cameron19 @NotSince67 What do you mean cam? You gave three reasons why plays through injury: 1) Played through chemo (not true) 2) I don;t know what he has or hasn't had as injuries (which also goes for you) 3) HE played with a wrist injury (severity, type unknown, see point #2) 4) has only missed a few games in 4 years.
You did nothing to adress my original point there are leader in this league who play with broken ribs and punctured lungs and Kess will be quationable for a game in the stretch drive with a bruised foot.
But as soon as I debunk you, you run and try to potshot at me in a new string of comments. Get over yourself. You can't even do debate, or dialogue, you try to assert shit that isn;t true and run away when proved wrong.
@NotSince67 @Cameron19 Because your entire argument is based on a fictional event which did not occur. Kessel didn't miss any game with a bruised foot, so what are you even talking about? You haven't debunked anything, and your counter to the wrist point was laughably pathetic - unless you think people frequently bandage and sling their arms/wrists for pool injuries. I'm not running, I'm just tired of arguing with a neanderthal who insists a player play through broken ribs to be considered worthwhile - no doubt because that's something you imagine Dougie or Wendel would have done...*sigh*
@Cameron19 @NotSince67 Anyone who missed KEssel being questionable down the stretch with a bruised foot wasn;t paying attention. Why? Remember Kessel went down after taking a cross-ice pass from JvR in the foot? Then the next game the commentators spoke of Kessels luck blocking a shot and taking another puck off the same foot in on shift, both where he was felled by it?
You probably don't, primarily due to selective memory however.
If you want, questioning if that's indeed the original source of the injury, whether or not it was just a bruise, blah blah blah, do so, it's valid, but unlikely. Instead, Cam knows all, and denies any such event, even though everyone at the rink knew Kessel was on a hobbled foot and a game time decision.
For the record, I can be positive it was a bruise and not a break, because a break would have generally required surgery, and would have been reported after the season ended.
@Loric76 As opposed to what? Names out of a hat?
@Loric76 Extensions are meaningless. What happened to a coach earning an extension though? At least Wilson's team was playing well when he got an extension. This is just rewarding Carlyle for being a cunt.
The toronto maple leafs have proven once again that being the laughing stock of the hockey universe takes a lot of work and effort. I mean look how hard they must have deliberated and drank to ignore all the evidence that this coach sucks shit?
@wiski Said the shepherd as he herds his flock into the ACC.
@wiski Yeah, can't wait for all those old UFA's Nonis is going to sign. "Let all the chips fall where they may" said Leafs fans every year for the past 10 years.
Sid makes solid points here, check it out
Don't forget, THIS is the best team that management could buy after having all that cap space last off-season. This was a team that was capped out to the point where they couldn't bring up a single player(and didn't realize until he was on a flight to FLorida) But yup, they all get a free pass.
@loomx imagine how much franson and bolland get this summer
The NHL is changing and yet again the Leafs are at the back of the pack. They have the ability to be leaders in analytics and hoard more information than any other team, become innovators of the sport. Yet here we are, toiling with old school tactics and ways of doing business. I'm done watching the Leafs, buying their shit or supporting their sponsors. Until they show me some initiative instead of recycling the same shit just painted a different colour and calling it new they have lost a 25 year old fan who was willing to spend their hard earned dollars on them.
So Nonis is basing his success on 1 short playoff run, where we collapsed at the end of. I'm trying to see logic.
Good thing RC is staying. Now we can finally have Dion play 40 mins a night maybe with Holzer as his partner. Reimer, Lupul, Kadri and Gradiner can be traded and Bolland can be signed for 5.5 x 5 like he always wanted. We can then replace Lupul and Kadri with Bickell and Boyle maybe even bring in Callahan. Orr and MacLaren can still get their 4 minutes of ice on the 4th line with McClement. We'll bring up Yeo to replace Gardiner. Maybe we'll sign Prust.
@darthNihilus Go on....
There isn't a worse coach in the NHL....and we just extended him.
So, in 3 years when the roster is an absolute disaster, who are we going to replace Shanahan with? Can Lieweke go with him?
@Cameron19 he isnt the worst coach in the NHL
@Cameron19 Ballard years starting to look pretty good eh?
@philthethrill Somebody give me a synopsis. I dont read other "leafs" sites.
@Black_Hawk You're right. Having no one would be better than having the wrong guy.
