Toronto Maple Leafs’ Former Assistant Coach, Scott Gordon – TSN Drive, May 15 with Dave Naylor & Jeff O’Neil
just about to start GOT buddy, it will be a terrible five days waiting for you to watch it so we can comment!
Re-sign Bolland for 2 years at around 4-4.5mil. Dump Bozak for picks/prospects. Sign Stastny. Trade Lupul+ for EKane.
one of my favourite players to watch. Hossa, not Brown. Fuck Brown
Colborne, Ashton, D'Amigo, Holland couldn't outplay Orr and McLaren...
@Bruffins A high to mid second and a decent prospect.
@TheCanucksnaphook Damn. They have a really solid team. Should be a good series
@loomx No chance Bozak gets traded let alone dumped unless it was an absolute sure thing someone could fill that his role........
@Bruffins Anaheim seems like a good fit. Our 2nd+Noesen/W.Karlsson
The forwards are a huge problem defensively. Even if you can upgrade that 1st line just a bit with a better centre and make the other lines primarily two-way lines, then that alone is a huge boost to the team defense without even touching the Dmen. And you can upgrade the 1st line in 2 ways. Either get a guy who's an ace defensively 5 on 5(which Bozak is not), or you get a guy who's better offensively so that the top line spends most of its time in the offensive zone. Stastny just happens to help in both of those areas.
@ShiftyD @T K O @loomx Except that ideally, Gunnar would play further down in the lineup and he can be most effective. If you get a 1C upgrade and keep Bozak, where does he go? He only gets ~50 points with Phil friggin Kessel. Is he going to get that many with Lupul and CLarkson? I don't think so. On the 3rd line? a 3C being paid 4.2mil? that sucks.
@wiski @ShiftyD @T K O @loomx JVR and Kessel are already sub-par defensively. Having Bozak there makes no sense because he's sub-par defensively too. The only reason he sees any PK time is because he's good on draws. He misses his zone coverage far too many times. Is he a problem? This season he wasn't because his offensive production was off the charts(too off the charts). But he's part of our weak core of centres. So going forward, yes, he is a problem.
@wiski Thank you.
@ShiftyD @T K O@loomxwhatever numbers Bozak puts up.... thinking that the return would be greater than having him in our lineup at less than what Bolland is going to get is a steal........................ Bozak is the least of our problems..... and whoa I never brought up Gunner.... thats a whole other story
@loomx @T K ONo not a Stall..... Kadri got ample chance and there was nothing that supported the idea that Kadri could replace Bozak.... and no I'm not looking for a Staal either. sign Statsny...fine with me but Bozak stays... at 4.2 and can play 1C even if he moved down lineup and can fill in...... but to move him no need.....
@T K O @loomx Nobody else has been tried for a significant amount of time. Grabovski was tried for 12 games and that line played well, then Bozak came back from injury and was just plugged right back in on the 1st line. And this year, when Kadri played there, McClement ended up playing more minutes than him.
If getting a two-way centre with a career 70 point per season average is a lack luster upgrade, then I don't know what you're expecting. Who do you want? Eric Staal? All I see are people bashing him. Every upgrade that is presented is always dismissed by fans. You'll NEVER get a huge upgrade at C to fall on your lap without tanking and drafting high when you're "retooling"
@loomx @T K OThats the same lack luster up grade we always do..... lets grab someone a little bit better that what we have..... I seen that episode a thousand times..... plus I am no trying to keep Bozak... I am just saying he is the only one that has been able to Centre that first line and I don't think there is any chance he gets moved.
@Jordan29 Anything over 2 years is too much for a 3rd liner with a sliced tendon. He can come back if he takes 1-2 years.
